2010 06 WERockDayton 300x199 W.E. Rock Eastern US National Rocks Through the NightPLACERVILLE, CA   JUNE 30, 2010: Dayton Tennessee’s Mountain Extreme Park hosted the 2nd W.E. Rock Eastern US National Event. Even though the weather tried to put a damper on the night event, drivers and spectators didn’t leave until the final course was complete.

“There were probably more spectators at this event than at any other W.E. Rock event to date,” stated Rich Klein, race promoter.  “When the rain started pouring on Saturday night and the spectators disappeared we thought we had seen the last of them, but as the rain lifted and the events continued, they all returned until it was completely over, which was about 3am with the delay.  It was awesome!” Read More→

Rock at Donner Ski Ranch Turns Out Another Great Event Over Father’s Day WeekendRENO, NV   JUNE 25, 2010:  The most highly anticipated event of the year, Rock’n @ the Ranch W.E. Rock Western US National, held at Donner Ski Ranch over Father’s Day weekend, was a competitor and crowd pleaser.  The event attracted 28 teams with spectators and crews littered all over the mountain.

“The courses were insane, we beat ourselves and our rigs up,” stated competitor Matt Messer from Trail Gear who took his first ever Unlimited class win.  Drivers competed on some of the hardest natural terrain courses this location has ever seen and there was plenty of rollover action, which is typical for Donner with the amount of ledges, drop-offs and amazing rocky formations.  “We really had a lot of fun putting these courses together, they were really technical and focused on the drivers skills,” said Rich Klein, event promoter. The Xtreme Outlaws 250 race started with the Grand Sierra Leap then paraded down Interstate 80 to the green flag where they went into the wild desert for four laps of brutal and fresh terrain.  Class winners Chuck Dempsey, Patrick Timmons, Gary Herrod, Mike Shaffer, Jay Schroeder, Greg Jones, Vince Viola, Kevin Yoder, Terry Shelton and Dennis Jean made their way through the Nevada desert to complete one of the toughest VORRA races yet. 2010 06 Octane1 300x200 Roger Norman First Short Course Race at SuperLite Invitational During Octane Fest RENO, NV     JUNE 17, 2010  – Roger Norman competed in his first ever short course race last weekend in a SuperLite truck at the SuperLite Invitational during Octane Fest in Fallon, NV.  “These were so much fun to drive.  I think I am hooked!” said Roger Norman.

The SuperLite single seat rotary engine spec trucks compete in the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing series and made a special appearance at the Octane Fest with a first ever Invitational style race.  Roger Norman was asked to compete against nine other drivers including John Harrah, Chuck Dempsey, Jeff Ward, Ricky Johnson, Johnny Greaves, Cameron Steele, Carl Renezeder, Brian Deegan, and Jeremy “Twitch” Stenberg.  “It was quite a line up of drivers, and it was funny to think that I was the rookie among them.  Can’t say I have used that term lately,” Norman laughs.
