Miller Motorsports Park plays host to the next two rounds of the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series (LOORRS) “short course” competition this weekend. As the season approaches the mid-point, ROCKSTAR Energy Drink’s Rob MacCachren sits third in points and continues his march up the championship ladder. MacCachren won at Miller Motorsports Park last season in his ROCKSTAR Energy / BFGoodrich Tires / MasterCraft Safety truck, but with a completely new track will last season’s success give MacCachren any advantage?
“I hear that the track is completely new, so it is a level playing field for all seventeen drivers,” MacCachren commented. “People forget that the track was brand new too when I won in Utah last year.” A true “short course,” the track constructed at Miller Motorsports Park is just under one mile in overall length providing for exciting door to door action with excellent viewing of the entire course from the grandstands. Fans who come out for the race will be treated to the “Mammoth Tabletop”; the largest tabletop jump in the LOORRS series and straight-aways that will result in higher speeds than any other LOORRS venue to date.
MacCachren’s talents most recently earned him victory last weekend at the TRAXXAS / The Off-Road Championship (TORC) short course race at historic Crandon International Raceway. MacCachren’s list of accomplishments includes winning three consecutive Borg-Warner Championships and three Governor’s Cup Championships on BFGoodrich tires at Crandon. He has now won both of the first two TORC races of the season, positioning him to win season championships in both TORC and LOORRS, where he is the current reigning Pro2 Unlimited champion.
