San Bernardino, Calif. – (Aug. 15, 2011) – Team General Tire’s unstoppable off-road force is at it again, tearing up the Glen Helen Raceway in San Bernardino during Round 9 and 10 of the Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Series Aug. 6 and 7. Young-gun Dawson Kirchner topped the podium in Super Lite on Saturday, with teammates Robby Woods taking 2nd in Pro 2, Carl Renezeder grabbing 2nd in Pro 4 and Quentin Tucker taking home 2nd in Limited Buggy. On Sunday, Renezeder walked away with 3rd in Pro 4, Woods took 2nd in Pro 2 and Kirchner returned to the podium to take 3rd in Super Lite.

With 17 trucks revved at the starting line of the Super Lite race Saturday, many of them piloted by seasoned racers, one might say 18-year-old Dawson Kirchner had the cards stacked against him. But he wasn’t giving up without a fight. Starting in the second row, he shot off to an early lead, leaving his competition in a cloud of dust. While the other racers scrambled to catch up, Kirchner didn’t break his concentration the entire race. The crowd’s excitement was palpable and a big rollover in turn two had viewers on the edge of their seats.

The race saw two restarts and plenty of spin-outs, but none of this seemed to phase Kirchner. Holding his position from start to finish, he piloted to a first-place win – his second of the season.

“I may not be the most experienced racer on the track,” said Kirchener after he took the podium in front of a roaring crowd Saturday. “But one thing I have no shortage of is determination. I couldn’t have done this without the support of Team GT, and I’m very excited to see what the future has in store for us.”

Robby Woods in Pro 2, Carl Renezeder in Pro 4 and Quentin Tucker in Limited Buggy all raced to 2nd place finishes Saturday.
