La Mirada, Calif.– Makita Industrial Power Tools is excited to take on 2012 with one of the biggest off road racing stars in the world, 2011 Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Champion, X Games Gold Medalist, and Freestyle Motocross legend Brian Deegan. In addition to sponsoring Brian Deegan, Makita is also the Official Power Tool of the Metal Mulisha Freestyle Motocross Team which includes X-Games Medalists Todd Potter, Ronnie Faisst, Jackson “Jacko” Strong and several others. “The General,” Brian Deegan, founder of the Metal Mulisha, is a thirteen-time X-Games medalist and full-time action sports icon. Deegan recently added off-road motor sports racing to his list of talents and quickly captured championships in the PRO 2 Unlimited and PRO Lite Unlimited classes in the Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Series (LOORRS), and also won the Gold Medal in Rally Car Racing at the 2011 X-Games. For 2012, Deegan will take on another exciting challenge as he will also compete for a championship in the Global Rallycross Championship. When Deegan is not competing he manages the Metal Mulisha FMX team, which competes at FMX events around the world including, X-Games, Winter X-Games, X-Fighters, etc. and is comprised of several X Games FMX Medalists.

The Rockstar Makita Metal Mulisha team will be in action this weekend, March 31-April 1, as the Lucas Oil Off- Road Racing Series kicks off at Firebird International Raceway in Chandler, AZ.
