RuffStuff Official Repair Station of 2013 King of the Hammers

Open to Everyone.  Next Stops: Tierra Del Sol and Moab Easter Jeep Safari

ruffstuffLOOMIS, CA    JANUARY 7, 2012         The Free Ruffstuff Specialties Open Pit will be set up for the third consecutive year at the 2013 Griffin King of the Hammers.  The 8 bay capabilities will include 9 Lincoln Electric Welders and a 4×4 Torchmate Table in addition to 3 full service mobile welding trucks that can come to you anywhere.  Racers have priority, but nobody will be ignored, including those without broken vehicles who would just like a Free RuffStuff or Lincoln Electric T-shirt or koozie!  “Last year we repaired 198 different vehicles and this year we have doubled our size and added additional capabilities,” said Dan Fredrickson, owner of Ruffstuff Specialties.  “We go above and beyond for anyone, and one of the cool things that we offer is allowing you to try all the latest and greatest equipment from Lincoln Electric.  We know that most off-road guys are welders, sometimes amazingly good and sometimes not, but all can benefit from the hands on experience. If you are looking at plasma machines, there is no better time to check out the Torchmate 4×4 Table in use, and while the pressure is on to get it done right now!”

Ruffstuff Specialties and Lincoln Electric has made a big commitment to the Off Road Community in 2013 bringing these resources to four Ultra4 events and 5 other major events including Tierra Del Sol in Southern California and Moab Easter Jeep Safari.

FOA was the co-founding company of the Open Pit with RuffStuff. FOA Shock Tuning will be in full effect again this year. “FOA participated last year, but it was so soon after their factory burned down and they were pretty challenged but this year they are ready to go,” said Dan.  “All of our co-sponsors from last year will be with us again too, great companies like: Rugged Radios, Harris Welding, Team Tube, and Powertank. These are some of the companies that have seen this from a good idea and have never held back when they could help and we couldn’t do it without them. They are all worthy of your support!”

The main pit will be in two 4 bay tents and will be equipped with two Lincoln 250amp TIG’s, two Lincoln 250amp MIG’s, two Lincoln Tomahawk Plasma cutters, a Torchmate 4×4 Plasma table, chop saws, tubing benders, 6 steel work tables, vices, jacks, jack stands, tubing, sheet stock…You get the idea, the complete shop. The 3 full service welding trucks will each be outfitted with a Lincoln 300amp 10.5KW MIG welder and Lincoln LN25 wire feeder. The trucks will also have canned air, a torch, jacks, and hand tools. Each truck will be equipped with at least 1 skilled welder/fabricator at all times and will be available to come to your location when there is no racing on course.
