LetzRoll Offroad Streak Continues with a Double Podium

Letzroll VegasMESA, AZ     May 20, 2013   LetzRoll Offroad Racing continues their podium streak for 2013 with a double podium finish at the Cedar City, Utah Dirt Riot on May 12th.  Andrew McLaughlin and Tim Ray took 2nd place in the #4493 ESAB / Yukon Gear and Axle car while Alan Johnson and Mike Bradley took 3rd place in the #4511 HigherGRound4x4 / Pit Bull Tires car.  LetzRoll Offroad Racing has fielded cars 8 different times in the 2013 Dirt Riot season and they have been on the podium in every single one of those events.

“This has been one of the most fun trips to date. Besides the Ice cream stops, visit to new shops, and bathroom breaks we had a absolute blast!” said Andrew McLaughlin, #4493 driver of record and owner of LetzRoll Offroad.  “After Tim and I embarked on a 6-mile,1500 ft. elevation change hike of the racecourse, we were left with a lot of questions.  As part of the BLM agreement for this race, not a single car was able to pre-run beyond just a parade lap. After Qualifying we did not feel great.   We had to take 2 back ups and even though we felt like we were “over driving”, we still had a fast enough time to start #2. Ironically that is where we would finish. But not after some HARD work.

“Race day was full of the unexpected.  Loosing fuel pressure at the start of the second lap we quickly figured out the problem and switched over to our back up electrical system. That cost us nearly 10 minutes and put us at the very back of the pack.  With our consistent lap times and focused driving we began to pick up placement throughout the rest of the race. Our Pit team did a great job keeping us in the car informed of where we were and what we needed to do. With all this info we battled our way back to 2nd place for a strong finish.  Great race!” concluded Andrew.

The #4511 HigherGround4x4.com / Pit Bull Tires car also had a good day, finishing 3rd and staying competitive in the national points race with the last few races of the year becoming the deciding events.  “I had the pleasure to race with Mike Bradley as my navigator for this race.” Said Alan Johnson, owner and driver of the #4511.  “Mike raced the Everyman Challenge with Shawn Passmore this year and we have wheeled together, but he and I have never had any seat time together until race day.  Mike called the course like a pro.  We were in the mix the entire race with the pro-mod field passing each other back and forth all day long in a very competitive race.  The course was an awesome mix of tight turns, high-speed sections, and a fantastic road jump that was as much for us as it was for the spectators!
