Peter Basler SRRS 3BIRMINGHAM, AL   OCTOBER 17, 2013: Blue Torch Fab Peter Basler took the Southern Rock Racing overall Season Championship, for the second consecutive season.  Peter sat within the top two to three positions during the beginning of the season, until the Gray Rock event in Blue Torch’s backyard, where the team put themselves into first place and continued to earn that position through the next two events.  “This type of racing is really taking off in the South-East and we are glad to be part of the action,” said Jason Carner, owner of Blue Torch Fab and Team Manager.  “These ‘Rock Bouncers’ or ‘One-Shot Hill Killers’ are a blast to watch attack the hills, but it is even more fun to see Peter come out in the two-seat Ultra4 classified Rock Racer and climb the same hills.  We are very excited about this Championship and next year’s opportunities in this series.”

Carner revealed that they will be building a new car for Peter Basler to compete in for the third season of the Southern Rock Racing Series.  “We are going to build it similar to the current car, but with the current tubing requirements of Ultra4…plus more that I can’t reveal yet,” said Jason.  Watchwww.BlueTorchFab.com and www.facebook.com/bluetorchfab for information on the build as it happens.

The 2013 Off-Road Racing season, which included SRRS, Dirt Riot, Ultra4 and UTV Races, is far from over for the Blue Torch Fab team.  The next event will be the 2013 Tecate SCORE Baja 1000.  Jason Carner will be driver of record for the Class 4 RPM Offroad team.

In addition, planning for the 2014 race season is already underway.  Including, but not limited to, building the new Southern Rock Racing Car; building two 2014 Smittybilt Every Man Challenge Jeep JKs, one to show and one to grind; and continued participation in the RPM Offroad desert racing championship goals.  “We are always pushing the envelope with our vehicle builds and then pushing the vehicles to their max in the races that we participate in.  2014 will be no different, with the exception of the JK’s we are building for the Everyman Challenge.  These aren’t crazy unlimited vehicles, these will be bolt-on vehicles built to highlight the strength of our Blue Torch Fab products and our partners products.  These JK’s will be a showcase and proof in our everyday products,” said Jason Carner.

About Blue Torch Fabworks, Inc:  Established in 2001, there weren’t many readily available parts for the hardcore wheeler to build with.  BTF filled this void by creating parts that made building for the at-home garage builders a little easier. Blue Torch Fab is now the industry leader in DIY parts for your custom fabrication project.  We design our parts to be assembled easily in the customer’s own garage with basic fabrication tools.  Our main focus is to provide affordable parts for the recreational trail wheeler while still maintaining the quality and strength that the hardcore crawler/racer would need. Jeeps, trucks, and custom chassis, we have also built many custom turn-key vehicles.  From trail Jeeps on 1 ton axles to full King of the Hammer style race vehicles.  BTF is located in downtown Birmingham, AL in a 33,000 sq. ft shop, that includes a full fab shop, machining tools, offices, and a showroom.   http://www.bluetorchfab.com
