146 John Currie Wins Everyman Challenge at King of the Hammers  John Currie Wins Everyman Challenge at King of the Hammers

In a masterful display of driving skill, King Shocks racers John Currie and co-driver Gerald Lee won the inaugural Everyman Challenge held Sunday, Feb. 5th, 2012 at the King of the Hammers (KOH) event in Johnson Valley, Ca. Currie was competing against 18 other “stock” class competitors and also beat all 17 drivers in the much more altered “modified” class. Currie was running factory style coil springs on his Jeep, LJ and a single 2.5″ King “Smoothie” shock with a hose remote reservoir on each wheel. King’s smoothie shock is the most basic shock style in the King product line-up. What makes the King “Smoothie” stand out is the tunable internal valving, quality materials and strict precision tolerances that all contribute to the superior damping performance John Currie used to dominate the race. Ultra4 series Champion and former “King of the Hammers” Loren Healy made the switch to King Shocks just in time for qualifying at the Ultra4 series season ender at Glen Helen Raceway in San Bernardino, Ca. Healy bolted new King, “Pure Race” coil-overs and bypass shocks onto his rig and with only a few minor adjustments went out and qualified fifth in a field of 42 rigs that included two other KOH Kings and a long list of hard chargers hell bent on seizing the last victory of the 2011 season.  Read More→

The King Shocks Trophy Truck team of Juan Carlos Lopez and Clyde Stacy has been making huge strides together. Running up front for several races now, the team broke-out at the Code, Mexicana Logistics 300. In an awesome display of what they are capable of, Juan Carlos Lopez started eighth off the line and quickly passed the first seven starters on the first lap. King Shocks racer Robby Woods left Glen Helen raceway in San Bernardino, California with a matching set of 2nd place trophies after rounds 9 and 10 of the Lucas Oil Offroad Racing series. Robby races in the Pro-2 class for unlimited, two wheel drive trucks against some of the best drivers the sport has ever seen including King Shocks teammate and 7 time champion Carl Renezeder. Robby’s success is a welcomed sight to many fans and even a few fellow competitors who love to root for the underdog.
