2002 Jeep® Grand Cherokee Special Edition Debuts at the
New York Auto Show

new 2002 Special Edition model of the Jeep® brand's award-winning
Grand Cherokee debuted at the New York International Auto Show.
Available for a limited time only, the new Jeep Grand Cherokee Special
Edition will be available in dealerships in late April.

are pleased to announce yet another new Grand Cherokee model in
answer to customer preferences-- the new Grand Cherokee Special
Edition," said Tom Marinelli, Vice President, Chrysler/Jeep
Global Brand Center. "The Jeep Grand Cherokee Special Edition
combines a monochromatic appearance with customer preferred equipment
at a very attractive price."
Starting
at just $28,535 including destination, the Jeep Grand Cherokee Special
Edition is offered in both two- and four-wheel drive with either
the 4.0-liter PowerTech(TM) I-6 or available 4.7-liter PowerTech
V-8. Four-wheel drive models will start at $30,950 including destination.
Positioned
between Laredo and Limited models, the Jeep Grand Cherokee Special
Edition offers all of the Laredo package content, plus an available
4.7-liter V-8 PowerTech(TM) engine, body color front and rear fascias
and cladding, 10-disc CD changer, fog lamps and Special Edition
badging. Four-wheel drive versions will feature the Quadra-Trac
II® on-demand transfer case, sending torque from the rear to
the front wheels when the need is detected - automatically. The
Grand Cherokee Special Edition will be available in all 10 Grand
Cherokee exterior colors.
