Dearborn,
MI - Ford Motor
Company is revving up for its centennial anniversary with
a spectacular car show and a concert series highlighted
by country music superstar Toby Keith.
It's
all part of Ford's 100th birthday celebration in its hometown
of Dearborn, Mich., from June 12 - 16, 2003.
THE
ROAD IS OURS gala will include a display of classic cars
and trucks from all Ford brands - Ford, Lincoln, Mercury,
Aston Martin, Jaguar, Land Rover, Mazda and Volvo - as well
as current models and concept cars.
The
concert series headlined by Toby Keith will also feature
Motown, rock and other styles of popular music. The events
will include interactive displays and exhibits, a fireworks
display and tours of a Ford factory.
Ford
will also issue a special edition centennial package of
five vehicles (Focus, Mustang, Taurus, Explorer, F-250),
build six 1914 Model T replicas and fully restore Ford's
20-millionth vehicle - a 1931 Model A. The company's 2003
Shareholder's Meeting will be moved to June 16th - the date
the company was founded in 1903.
