FULLERTON, CA - Yokohama Tire announces the newest member of the highly-regarded Geolandar line, the Geolandar H/T-S – one tire line with three distinct applications. Yokohama’s Geolandar H/T-S breaks the design barriers by offering, long mileage, durability and comfort across each diverse performance application – standard fitment (original equipment), commercial applications and inch-up performance. For every Geolandar H/T-S consumer, this tire provides all-season durability, comfort and handling.

It is estimated that in 2003, 42 percent of all tires sold will be mounted on light truck vehicles. Yet, the light truck vehicles those tires are mounted on are not all used for the same purpose. Yokohama has designed and manufactured a tire that would fit three different vehicle applications. The Geolandar H/T-S tire incorporates design and construction variations depending on the vehicle it fits.

Standard Fitments – Original Equipment (G051)
For the majority of light truck and SUV owners, every-day driving – going to work, picking up the kids or going on vacation – is the main use of their vehicle. The integrated design and construction of the Geolandar H/T-S yields true Yokohama style and performance, delivering an excellent ride, great performance and long life. In addition, large shoulder blocks provide strength and stiffness for outstanding cornering.

Special tread compounds assist the Geolandar H/T-S in delivering high-mileage durability, while cross-grooves enhance its all-season capabilities in snow and ice. Constant contact tread blocks reduce low-pitch noise caused by air passing through the tire grooves.

Inch-Up Fitments (G052)
With the increased popularity of Plus 2 and Plus 3 light truck and SUV fitments, the Geolandar H/T-S provides enhanced performance and dedicated truck design construction that only Yokohama can offer. The inch-up sizes offer a distinct sidewall styling to compliment the sporty image. These tires are not just sporty and bigger, they are properly engineered. Outstanding handling is key in this fitment. The unidirectional tread design features large shoulder and smaller grooves delivering outstanding response grip and cornering. Add to that a high performance casing profile for quick steering response and ride comfort and a solid center rib that reduces noise and you have one awesome high performance ride.

Light Truck Load Range E (G053)
Yokohama’s technological advantage provides appropriate reinforced product applications that exceed customer expectations. Three-ply casing construction handles heavy loads at highway speeds and delivers outstanding durability. The wider solid center rib also adds to the tire’s durability and adds greater directional stability. The deeper groove depth of the Load Range E sizes contributes to the Geolandar H/T-S’s enhanced wet and snow traction and the longer wear of the tire.

The Geolandar H/T-S comes with a 60,000 Mile Limited Tread Warranty on Standard and Load Range E applications. The tire is available in 50, 60, 65, 70, and 75 aspect ratios in rim diameters ranging from 15”-20”. Sizes also include 30x9.50R15 and 31x10.50R15. The Geolandar H/T-S carries UTQG Rating between 460/AA/A and 500 A/B depending on the size.
