OUTDOOR LIFE NETWORK TO AIR LAND ROVER G4 CHALLENGE

Land Rover G4 Challenge WinnersIRVINE, CA – The first Land Rover G4 Challenge will be shown in two one-hour programs on the Outdoor Life Network on August 24 and 31, 2003. It's a unique event that tests men and women from 16 countries in a four-wheel driving competition across three continents. The results have been edited into two one-hour documentary style television shows that will air this fall on August 24 and 31 at 3 p.m. EST; 2 p.m. Central Standard Time and 12 noon, PST.

Filming of the G4 Challenge took place in the United States, South Africa and Australia over five weeks. The programming will feature how the competitors faired as they were tested physically and mentally throughout extreme climates and living conditions.

Tune in to follow the action as Americans Nancy Olson, 29 a U.S. Marine Corps Public Affairs Officer from Arlington, Va., and Chris Perry, 30 a water park manager in Dubai, who is a Chicago native residing in and representing Arabia, navigate through the roughest terrain using their adventure sports skills to gather points to try for the grand prize, a $71,200 2003 Range Rover.

Also from North America are Canadians Jim Kuhn, 38 a software engineer from Waterloo, Ontario, and Kitt Stringer, 26 a wilderness guide from Victoria, B.C.

For more than 50 years, Land Rover has been renowned for its expedition and exploration activities around the globe. It's now applying that expertise by combining adventure racing with off-road driving to create a unique event: the Land Rover G4 Challenge.

"The Land Rover G4 Challenge is the culmination of two years of planning and the efforts of a 120 person team that supported the program as it moved around the world - - all in the name of adventure," said Sally Eastwood, vice-president marketing, Land Rover North America.

The television program will take the viewer "on event" with the competitors as they battle for points around the globe living in their Land Rovers. Englishman Jamie Darling, who rode and competed alongside the contestants, serves as host giving viewers an inside look at life on the Challenge.
