Paris, France - The Jeep® Grand Cherokee is the flagship of the Jeep brand and a well-appointed 4x4 vehicle that provides legendary Jeep capability. Offered in a wide range of models, the line-up has been enhanced this year by the availability of two special series editions. Badged as Jeep Grand Cherokee “Vision” Series and “Black Pearl” Series, these two special editions continue to strengthen Grand Cherokee’s distinctive design and 4x4 leadership.
Jeep Grand Cherokee Vision Series
Based on the Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited, all Vision Series models are supplied as standard with
17-inch “Rogue” alloy painted silver wheels, rock rails with silver painted centre sections and black end caps, silver powder coated roof rails and cross bars and “Vision Series” badging. These additions boost even further the premium-look distinctive exterior.Inside, the premium effect continues with the use of brushed aluminium trim throughout the cabin, luxury floor mats incorporating the Jeep logo, stainless steel sill plates and a cargo net in the load area. An RB3 navigation system is optional for this series. Peace of mind in manoeuvring and parking is ensured by a standard-fit rear Park Assist system.
Jeep Grand Cherokee Black Pearl Series
Based on the popular, top-of-the-range Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland, the Black Pearl Series model can be recognised by a new aluminium alloy wheel with platinum finish, front grille with chrome grille bars and surround, matte black rock rails and “Black Pearl Series” badging. A rear Park Assist system is fitted as standard.The smart interior benefits from stainless steel sill plates, an AM/FM radio and CD player with optional RB3 navigation system, special black interior trim on doors, instrument panel and centre cluster, two-tone leather steering wheel and a load-area cargo net.Both the Vision Series and Black Pearl Series vehicles are available in five exterior colours: Graphite Metallic, Patriot Blue, Brilliant Black Crystal, Bright Silver Metallic and Stone White.
Great Style, Powerful Engines and Proven Jeep Four-wheel-drive Systems
The Jeep Grand Cherokee line-up continues to benefit from this year’s exterior revisions, which brought a new front fascia, grille and round fog lamps to all models. The more upright grille bars enhance the trademark seven-slotted grille design, and the sculpted front fascia now holds round fog lamps that invoke Jeep’s heritage and strengthen the family resemblance with the Jeep Cherokee and Jeep Wrangler.
As the leader of the sport-utility vehicle segment, Jeep continues to offer the right choice of engines to suit a wide range of customers. The Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland model is available with a 4.7-litre PowerTech™ V-8 High Output petrol engine or 2.7-litre common-rail turbo diesel (CRD) engine. A 4.7-litre petrol engine is available for the Limited model, and both a 4.0-litre straight-six petrol and the 2.7 CRD are available on Limited and Laredo models.
All Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles in Europe are available with Jeep-engineered four-wheel-drive systems. Laredo models feature the Selec-Trac® full-time transfer case with low range. Limited models come with the Quadra-Trac II® on-demand transfer case with low range and a progressive, speed-sensing torque transfer coupling. This system is also optional on Laredo.
Overland models have the Quadra-Drive® system that combines the Quadra-Trac II transfer case with Vari-Lok® axles, which use progressive, hydro-mechanical speed-sensing torque transfer couplings in both front and rear differentials. Quadra-Drive is able to send nearly 100 per cent of engine torque to just one wheel for outstanding capability both on- and off-road. Quadra-Drive is also optional on Limited models.
The UConnect™ hands-free communication system is now available as a Mopar® aftermarket accessory on Jeep Grand Cherokee. The UConnect hands-free communication system uses Bluetooth® technology to provide wireless communication between the driver’s compatible mobile phone and the vehicle’s on-board audio receiver. Advanced voice recognition technology controls the UConnect operation, and incoming calls are broadcast through the vehicle’s audio speakers.
Safety features standard on all Jeep Grand Cherokee models include next-generation front air bags, self-adjusting low-tension three-point front seat belts with height-adjustable top anchorage points, child seat anchor system (LATCH/ISOFIX) and Sentry Key® engine immobiliser.
Jeep Grand Cherokee is built at the Jefferson North Assembly Plant in Detroit, Michigan, USA, and at the Magna Steyr assembly plant in Graz, Austria.
