BRC NATIONAL LAND USE ALERT - ACTION ITEM INCLUDED
CONGRESSIONAL HEARING ON INTERIOR SECRETARY SALAZAR'S WILD LANDS POLICY SCHEDULED FOR TUESDAY, MARCH 1, 2011
Dear BRC Action Alert Subscriber,
Tomorrow, March 1, 2011, the U.S. House Committee on Natural Resources will hold an oversight hearing on Interior Secretary Salazar's Wild Lands policy. The hearing is entitled "The Impact of the Administration's Wild Lands Order on Jobs and Economic Growth."
Although the focus will be on the devastating economic impact of Secretary Salazar's new "Wild Lands" policy, it is a key opportunity to express your opposition to key members of Congress.
BRC has prepared a pre-written letter to help you let Congress know that you oppose Salazar's scheme for a never-ending, ongoing Wilderness inventory and review.
Learn details about Salazar's Order here. Info from the Committee on Natural Resources is here. The hearing is scheduled for 2 pm EST, and you can watch online here.
BRC is only one of many organizations dedicated to bringing public lands management back to its multiple-use and sustained yield mandate. You can learn more about other public lands issues on BRC's public lands webpage: http://www.sharetrails.org/public-lands/
Thanks in advance for your involvement. As always, please call or email if you have any questions or comments.
