MOOG becomes the first independent aftermarket brand to offer pre-assembled steering linkage

Southfield, Mich., May 23, 2016… Federal-Mogul Motorparts, a division of Federal-Mogul Holdings Corporation (NASDAQ: FDML), today introduced an innovative new MOOG® steering solution that will make repairs easier for automotive technicians and purchasing decisions easier for consumers. MOOG now offers a complete steering linkage assembly for Dodge Ram 2500 and 3500 pickups, in 4×2 and 4×4 models, from the 2009-2013 model years.

Now available under MOOG part number DS800981A, the pre-assembled steering linkage is quicker to install and requires only hand tools. The linkage assembly includes MOOG Problem Solver® inner and outer tie rods, adjusting sleeves and steering dampener bracket, as well as all required hardware. Designed for ease of use, the new MOOG assembly only needs minimal adjustment after installation.

“We have heard from many of our customers that 2009-13 Dodge Ram 2500 and 3500 steering systems are quite common in vehicle service bays, but access to parts outside of OE dealerships has been limited,” said Bryon Osterland, general manager, global steering and suspension, Federal-Mogul Motorparts. “Our goal was to go the extra mile and provide a one-stop-shop solution that could be purchased from sources other than dealerships, enabling parts to reach service providers in less time and with less complexity. Our new steering linkage assembly also enables much quicker installation for technicians, which can increase bay turns and profit per hour. When all of these benefits are combined with legendary MOOG quality and durability, the result is a unique MOOG product that exceeds OE standards.”
