BOSTON (March 29, 2016) – The Grand Prix of Boston powered by LogMeIn organizers are excited to announce that Robby Gordon’s SPEED Energy Stadium SUPER Trucks Presented by TRAXXAS will join the on-track lineup at the inaugural Grand Prix to be held in the South Boston Waterfront areaSeptember 2-4, 2016.
“The Stadium Super Trucks are an exciting addition to our lineup,” said Grand Prix of Boston powered by LogMeIn CEO John Casey. “The fans love the Stadium SUPER Trucks in every venue they race and it is a fantastic addition to our weekend full of events.”
Stadium SUPER Trucks bring the excitement of Baja-style desert racing to large crowds of race fans at popular race circuits across North America. The series features identically prepared trucks that are designed to take flight, hitting huge man-made ramps at more than 100 mph.
“Stadium SUPER Trucks have raced at some pretty cool places from the streets of Adelaide, Australia to Long Beach, California and to bring the 600-hp high-flying SST trucks to the historic streets of Boston over Labor Day I cannot be more excited,” said Robby Gordon, Stadium SUPER Trucks President. “There is simply no better way to celebrate the holiday weekend and traditional end to summer than with full slate of SST’s, IndyCar, and Indy Lights battling hard against one another along the beautiful South Boston waterfront.”
The Stadium SUPER Trucks join an exciting and unique racing line-up for the inaugural Grand Prix of Boston including the Verizon IndyCar Series, Lambroghini Super Trofeo and Indy Lights presented by Cooper Tires. The event will be held September 2-4, 2016 in the South Boston Waterfront Area and in addition to the racing lineup will feature a range of family-friendly festival activities.

About SPEED Energy Stadium SUPER Trucks Presented by TRAXXAS
Influenced by the former Mickey Thompson Stadium Off-Road Racing Series, where drivers such as Gordon, Casey Mears and six-time NASCAR champion Jimmie Johnson got their start, Gordon created SST in response to the public’s overwhelming interest in trucks and off-road racing. His plan to re-launch the former stadium series has led to exciting racing on both asphalt and dirt, while producing one of the most extreme forms of action sports today.
Other than the trucks launching 20 feet in the air covering distances more than 150 feet, what sets the SST program apart from other series is the fact that all the SST trucks are identically prepared and delivered to drivers in race-ready condition. Race winners are decided by driver skill rather than individual team engineering and budgets. Drivers and their personal mechanics are assigned specific SST mechanics who together tune and make minor adjustments to the 600-horsepower trucks.
