37 King of the Hammers co founder set to take the green flag in the event he helped createJeff Knoll and partner Dave Cole scratched out an idea on a napkin 7 years ago that has blossomed into one of the biggest off-road motorsports events in the United States attracting over 20,000 spectators for the weeklong King of the Hammers event held in the California Desert near 29 palms Marine base next week. Following the 2011 event Knoll announced plans he would be leaving the company and event he helped build, to pursue other interest shocking the Ultra4 Community. ” The time seemed right for a single person to take the company to the next level, and after much debate Dave proved the best choice” said Knoll speaking for the first time about his decision to leave Hammerking Productions. “We had accomplished far more together then we ever imagined producing 4 feature films, multiple TV shows, a racing series, and of course the mammoth King of the Hammers event. Leaving gave me the opportunity to explore some ideas I had wanted to expand Hammerking into without the burden of producing the existing product line and focus more time on political issues inside the OHV industry.” Knoll continued. Rock-crawling a bone stock Kawasaki Teryx in Moab, Utah

By Jeff Knoll

Jeff Knoll Steel Bender 199x300 Out of the Box, and into the RocksWhile most may not feel the need to tackle trails rated in a manner that scares away the average Jeep owner, when I was invited to join a group of dedicated UTV owners for a weeklong trip in Moab, I nearly jumped at the chance. One catch, I would be the only person in the group piloting a bone stock machine.

After over 10 years in the Rocksports Industry as co-founder of the Ultra4 Series and King of the Hammers, I felt it was possible the group wanted the rock crawler to have one hand tied behind his back. I will openly admit, I was a bit concerned about my ability to pilot a stock machine on trails I have driven a fully built buggy on in the past. Names like Steel Bender, Cliff Hanger, Green Day, and Helldorado may seem nearly impassable by name, but the scenic beauty that surrounds the town of Moab is best seen from some of the more ominous sounding trails. Staying on Course at Hammerking Productions Inc

Wednesday, March 2nd, 2011

JOHNSON VALLEY, CA,  MARCH 2, 2011   Hammerking Productions, Inc. will no longer be lead jointly by founders of the company, Jeff Knoll and Dave Cole, effective March 15th, 2011. Jeff has made the decision to explore new adventures and is leaving the organization that both he and Dave took from a concept to one of the most successful off road races in America.

In Jeff’s own words: “Starting with an idea scratched on a napkin now known as King of the Hammers, and the related qualifier series of Ultra4 events have far exceeded my goals. It has been a pleasure to work with all of the teams and sponsors over the last 5 years. I will leave the wheel and the throttle of Hammerking Productions, Inc. in the capable hands of Dave Cole and his management team as I explore the next adventure in my life.” Read More→
