TONKA® Motorsports Returns in 2015 for the Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Series with Increased TV Exposure

CORONA, Calif. (April 29, 2015) – Funrise Toys^®, manufacturer of TONKA branded products under license from Hasbro^® has returned as a sponsorship partner with Team Lucas for this year’s Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series with increased on-site event participation, as well as significant exposure on CBS, CBS Sports Network and MAVTV.

TONKA Motorsports is looking to leave an even bigger impression during this year’s season in the Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Series. Funrise will continue its sponsorship with Pro 2 driver, Myan Spaccarelli and is excited to announce the addition of veteran driver, Eric Barron to the Tonka Off-Road race team, competing in the Pro 4 class racing TONKA Toyota branded trucks equipped with Toyota motors.

In addition to Spaccarelli and Barron, Pro Lite and Pro Buggy driver, Taylor Atchison will add two more TONKA-branded race vehicles to the team as he competes in both classes.

“Tonka Motorsports’ presence both on the track and off will add an increased level of excitement for fans of all ages” Funrise Vice-President of Marketing, Kathy Hawk said. “Each year TONKA has been involved with the Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Series, the company has been delighted with the positive reception from race fans” said Hawk.

Families visiting Lucas Oil Off-Road Races can also expect areas set up for the littlest race fans to play. At each event on this year’s calendar, kids receive free admission to TONKA’s Fun Zone where they can play in the dirt with toy replicas of the vehicles they see racing. In addition, upon entry, each child 12 and under receives a “Spin N Win” ticket for one lucky spin for great TONKA prizes. Kids will receive a goody bag with stickers, TONKA Team Member Adventure and Pit Passes which allow kids and their parents to get up close and personal with their favorite TONKA Off-Road race team drivers.

“We will continue setting up TONKA Fun Zones at each race as a destination where kids can play in sand pits and get hands on with TONKA toys,” Hawk said. “We also will have a 15-foot inflatable dump truck stationed on track, and will be selling Tonka Off-Road vehicles at all events. We are always happy to be able to provide a destination where kids and parents come to play with TONKAs between races. They always leave with a smile.”

K&N Filters Expands Team Lucas Relationship in 2015

CORONA, Calif. (April 23, 2015) – Showing continued appreciation for grass roots motorsports across the United States, K&N Filters has expanded its 2015 Team Lucas involvement to encompass multiple racing series this year.

Tom Wayes is an Alaskan backcountry heli-ski guide turned off-road racecar driver who has found great success in being anything but average. With a larger-than-life personality, Tom thrives in situations that make others shrink in fear. Whether it’s barreling down the snow-covered face of some of the biggest mountains in Alaska strapped into his skis or taming some of the most unforgiving terrain in the country in his LS7 powered Ultra4 car, Wayes has no issue with pushing the limits. After a valiant effort at this year’s King of the Hammers presented by Nitto Tire, Tom and his team are drawing a bead on the 2015 Ultra4 National Series. Eric Barron / LOORRS Pro 4 / #32

Eric Barron is a well-versed competitor who has seen success in several forms of racing. Growing up, Barron won races and championships in BMX, motocross, and karting competition. As time rolled on Eric immersed himself in dirt track and road racing for a few years until short course off-road made its way to the western US. This form of motorsport caught Barron’s attention and after a short time he built his first Pro 4 to compete at the top level of the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series. Since then Eric has secured 7 race wins, multiple podium finishes, and is looking to make 2015 a winning year in the ICON-equipped #32 Pro 4.

Dustin Nelson / LOORRS Pro Lite / #94

Dustin Nelson is a professional motorsports racer and a Yamaha test rider with a 20-year career topping podiums on motorcycles, ATVs, and side-by-sides. A record holding championship racer, Dustin “Nelly” Nelson has proven his ability to win in several forms of motorsport and is now ready for the next step in his career – the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series Pro Lite class. Keep an eye out for the ICON-equipped #94 Pro Lite throughout the 2015 LOORRS racing season.

4 Wheel Parts Renews Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series Partnership

Compton, California (March 17, 2015) – Today, 4 Wheel Parts, the global leader in off-road aftermarket performance product sales and installation, announced its return as the “Official Off Road Parts Retailer” of the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series. The popular off-road racing organization kicks off the 2015 season March 20-21 at Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park in Lake Elsinore, California.

The agreement extends the long time partnership for another year as the series continues to expand into new markets and experience increases in attendance and broadcast viewership.
