scaled e1333390809 Rob MacCachren Puts ROCKSTAR Energy Drink and Makita Tools On the Podium in LOORRS Season OpenerThe first race with a new truck is never an easy task, even with the considerable talents of Rob MacCachren behind the wheel.  MacCachren has already racked up wins in the desert this season at Laughlin, San Felipe, and the Mint 400, but the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series (LOORRS) short course season is just heating up.  Speaking of heat, it was an issue in qualifying where temperatures at Firebird International Raceway in Phoenix were in the 90s, revealing a cooling issue with MacCachren’s brand new Pro2 Unlimited truck.  This limited Rob Mac’s practice time on the several high speed sections, spectacular jumps, and unique dual split line of Firebird’s track. e1323758974 Rollercoaster Ride for Team LeDuc Racing At Short Course Season FinaleThe Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series (LOORRS) season came to a close last weekend at Firebird International Raceway in Chandler, Arizona.  The grandstands were packed as fans watched Kyle LeDuc dominate the Pro4 Unlimited field in his No. 99 Rockstar Energy Drink / Makita Tools F-150.  Kyle had qualified first and ran away from the competition early and never looked back, setting the fast lap in the process.  Meanwhile, Kyle’s brother Todd was battling with rally driver Liam Doran for fourth place for much of the race, with both trucks shedding their body panels in the process.  Todd won the battle with Doran and finished just off the podium.  Todd finished third in season points in the No. 4 Rockstar Energy Drink / Makita Tools Ford and took home Rookie of the Year honors for the class in the process.  Kyle LeDuc finished just in front of his brother for second place this season, while his six Pro4 Unlimited victories were more than any other driver in 2011.  Father Curt LeDuc battled the flu in addition to his competitors, finishing seventh on Saturday in his No. 43 Makita Tools / TRUXXX Lift and Level Ford and eighth for the season out of 18 drivers in Pro4 Unlimited.  Chaplain Steve Hanson offered a somber prayer for Rick and Jeff Huseman to open the ceremonies for the latest Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series (LOORRS) race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway last weekend.  The Husemans and their friend Danny Hicks died in a plane crash just three weeks prior to the race, taking away one of LeDuc Racing’s closest competitors on the track.  Kevin Huseman led the Pro4 Unlimited field around the parade lap in the No. 36 truck to pay the final respect to his lost brothers.  Read More→
e1317066039 ROCKSTAR Energy Drink / Makita Tools Team LeDuc Racing On Fire At Speedworld
The last time the LeDuc team visited Speedworld the course was not kind to them, particularly the brutal stutter bumps.  While the latest weekend of the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series (LOORRS) was not free of carnage for the LeDucs, they were rewarded for their never-say-die attitude.  Fans braved triple digit temperatures to see Kyle LeDuc qualify first on Friday, with his father Curt qualifying fifth in the No. 43 Makita Tools / Truxxx Lift and Level Ford.   Todd LeDuc tossed a driveshaft in practice, which forced him to start at the back of the pack for Saturday’s main event.  Read More→

e1309236152 ROCKSTAR Energy Drink / Makita Tools Team LeDuc Wins Big in UtahWhen the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series (LOORRS) brought world-class short course racing to Utah last season, Team LeDuc Racing earned three podium finishes for ROCKSTAR Energy Drink / Matika Tools.  Coming back to Miller Motorsports Park for 2011, the LeDucs would settle for nothing less than a win at the all new one-mile track.  The mammoth table top jump and long straight aways at Miller Motorsports Park are perfectly suited for the natural talent of Kyle, Todd, and Curt LeDuc.  To illustrate the point, on Friday Kyle qualified first in Pro Lite Unlimited and he qualified second in Pro4 Unlimited, while he father Curt qualified 5th and his brother Todd qualified 6th for Saturday’s racing. This weekend’s racing will mark rounds five and six of the series, and Brian Deegan comes into this event in second place in ProLite and Pro 2.  2011 is Brian’s first full season in the Pro 2 class and he has adapted extremely well to the new challenge by finishing on the podium several times thus far.  In ProLite, “The General” is still the man to beat and as a former champion, is looking to capture another championship.  He will face some stiff competition however from the Rockstar Makita ProLite truck of Kyle LeDuc.  Kyle is a former champion as well and is hungry for a win in 2011. e1303311601 Rough Weekend Of Racing Can’t Keep ROCKSTAR Energy / Makita Tools Kyle LeDuc Off The Podium
Speedworld Off Road Park in Surprise, Arizona is a notoriously rugged track; particularly the stutter bumps in the infield that result in only one tire on the ground at any given time.  While that made for exciting short course racing in Rounds 3 and 4 of the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series (LOORRS) last weekend, when you are feeding 900 horsepower to all four Toyo Open Country M/T tires, like Team LeDuc’s three Pro4 Unlimited trucks, something has to give.  “Every time we break something we learn from that,” explained the always humble Curt LeDuc.  “We would just rather do our learning in practice that when we are racing.” Read More→

The Rockstar Energy Drink / Makita Tools short course racing team of Curt, Kyle, and Todd LeDuc came to Firebird International Raceway for the season finale of Lucas Oil Off Road Racing (LOORS) short course racing with a score to settle.  By their own admission, Rounds 13 and 14 of the short course series in Las Vegas did not go as well as they had hoped.  Lesser teams might let this affect them mentally, but the Rockstar Energy Drink / Makita Tools team drew upon their years of experience and came to Phoenix with renewed purpose.
