shafferOAKLAND, CA     MARCH 13, 2012   Shaffer-Motorsports car #401 won the San Felipe 250 in Class 4 last weekend in Baja, Mexico.  After a long week of prerunning and a 24 hour turn around to the US for a rebuilt transaxle, the team made the mad dash to the finish line with only 12 minutes separating them from second.  “It was quite a race.  From being down at the half way point, then making a great pass at RM194 for the lead, then watching Daniel put some time on them, we just focused on keeping the sprint up,” said Mike Shaffer, driver of record and owner of Shaffer’s Offroad. shafferOAKLAND, CA     JANUARY 19, 2012   Shaffer-Motorsports team car #401 finished second on both Saturday and Sunday at the SCORE Laughlin Desert Challenge.  The team debuted the new black, red and white look for the 2012 season including the addition of title sponsor Transfer Case Express while still being supported by Torchmate CNC Cutting Systems.  “We had fun even though we had to pull a motor out on Saturday after running with no clutch during the whole race,” said Mike Shaffer, driver of record.  “The wheel to wheel action that was also nose to tail made for a very exciting race to drive, and then it was even cooler that we got to watch all the other classes when we weren’t racing.”            Read More→

OAKLAND, CA     JANUARY 11, 2012   Shaffer-Motorsports team car #401 will be competing in the entire SCORE International Racing Series in 2012.  With the addition of title sponsor Transfer Case Express, the Shaffer-Motorsports black, red and white car will be focused on the SCORE Class 4 Championship.  “When we were deciding on our season we agreed that we loved racing in Baja, so opted to focus all our efforts on the SCORE series in hopes of coming out with a championship,” said Mike Shaffer, driver of record and owner of Shaffer’s Offroad.  “This will be our second season with this car and I feel we get more and more confident of its capabilities after each race and all our testing and tuning sessions.” Read More→

OAKLAND, CA     NOVEMBER 29, 2011   Torchmate Racing Shaffer-Motorsports team car #401 finished second in class at the 2011 Tecate SCORE Baja 1000 after completing 705 miles with an official time of 24 hours and 40 minutes through the most grueling terrain in Baja. With only 10 minutes separating them from the leader, the third leg driver Daniel Aeberli said, “We gave it everything. It was a great race at the end and the Torchmate car really gave us what we needed to finish.”  Read More→

RENO, NV     AUGUST 17, 2011   Mike Shaffer and the Shaffer-Motorsports Team will run the longest offroad race in the US on Friday  August 19th; the TSCO Best in the Desert Vegas to Reno race.  The team is currently in third place, only 10 points out of first in the Class 1000 series.  Their goal is to improve on the third place finish that they had at the Silver State 300 and move closer to the Best in the Desert series Class 1000 win.  “We have had a solid season so far, and look to continue pushing to the front of the pack at this race,” said Mike Shaffer, driver of record and owner of Shaffer’s Offroad.
