JT Taylor KOH 2013 220x146 JT Taylor Takes 12th Checkered Flag at 2013 King of the HammersCOLORADO SPRINGS, CO     FEBRUARY 11, 2013   With months of prep behind them, OG13 JT Taylor, co-driver Doug Nagy and crew headed out with the Torchmate #13 racer to the sand and rocks of Lucerne Valley, CA.  Pre-running the racecourse on Sunday and Monday, and then qualifying on Tuesday went well. JT took it easy on the car during qualifying putting them in the 85th starting position out of 127 starters. By the end of the day on Friday, they had earned a 12th place finishing position of only 19 finishers within the time limit, where only 27 actually finished the race. Read More→

43 Torchmate Racing helps keep Moab beautifulFollowing the 2005 Easter Jeep Safari in Moab Utah Jeff Knoll and his family read an article in the Moab newspaper about an environmentalists named Sara Melnicoff who was cleaning up the amazing mess left by off roaders who chose to party at Potato Salad hill.  Knoll and family presented a challenge to keep the area clean the following year which the online 4 wheeling community has spun into a yearly cleanup and proactive approach to management of the area during safari. JT Taylor KOH 2012 220x146 JT Taylor Starts 6th Consecutive King of the HammersCOLORADO SPRINGS, CO    FEBRUARY 15, 2012  –  JT Taylor set forth on his 6th King of the Hammers adventure last week in the same car that he has driven for 5 of those years.  After a high speed tumble during pre-running, the team thrashed to get the car back on all four in time for qualifying.  JT started Fridays race in 68th and finished his race 18.5 miles from the finish line with a blown transfer case.  “When we were 40 miles from the finish line I thought I would get to finish this race, but I got shot in the foot again,” said JT Taylor after recovering the rig. “But the time spent on the lakebed with friends, who I only get to see a couple times a year, makes it worth the trip nonetheless.” Read More→

Gordon, who has acquired the Torchmate Racing built TTB car for the upcoming Griffin King of the Hammers event, will begin testing the rebadged Speed Energy #77 car this week and he has tasked rock crawling champion and former Pirate4x4.com owner, Lance Clifford, to navigate. “Although I have not yet met Lance, he has come highly recommended and is a welcome addition to our team.
