RE
Step 8 Inside, get a tiny screwdriver and pry out (carefully) your shift pattern inlay from the gear shifter. to reveal the nut inside. Uscrew the shifter handle from the shaft.

RE
Step 10 The kit comes with a small grommet/o-ring which you are supposed to slip over the shaft. We reamed it out until it fit just underneath the shifter handle. Once on, you then put the hand throttle over it and tighten up the screw.

RE
Step 9 Drill a small hole in the rubber gasket in the firewall. Put one end of the black tubing into the bracket assembly by the throttle body. Then, pass the black tubing through the hole and into the inside of the Jeep. Run it through underneath your center console and up through the accordian boot to the throttle.

RE
Step 11 You'll need to cut one end off of the cable in order to pass it through. Look closely and you'll notice that one end is attached 90 degrees differently than the other. Keep the one that attaches on a flat side and cut off the one that attaches on a round edge. The cylinder on the end will fit into the throttle in an inset hole. Try it to make sure you do it right or you'll ruin the whole kit.

Step 12

Notes:The Rubicon Express hand throttle is to be used only in off-road situations. Misuse can be extremely dangerous and possibly fatal, as the vehicle may continue driving on it's own if left in gear.
