Step
12Slip the cable through the throttle and all the way through
the black tubing and out at the other end (throttle body end).
Step
14 Attach the plastic piece on the cruise control flange
and pass the cable through it. Carefully cut the end of the cable off.
Be careful not to do it too closely. We can always cut more off later.
Slip on a crimp. If you have a friend handy, have them inside and to
make sure the shifter is in neutral and the throttles are both in relaxed
(off) mode. Slip crimp up to the plastic piece and crimp it tightly.

Step
13 Here's where we took liberties with the kit. Using Jeep/MOPAR
Part # 52078102, cut off the 90 degree end and throw away the spring.
We are only interested in the grey plastic piece.
Step
15 Once it's tight, you may reinforce it with another crimp.
We did this and then slipped a small piece of rubber over the end to
cover the sharp edge.
Step
16 You're now ready to try out your hand throttle. Make sure
you reattach the air cleaner box tube first! you may find that you need
to tighten up the cable a bit to find a comfortable position. Now go
out and hit the rocks! |
