STEP
18
Re-install
the rear output bearing housing after you let the gasket
set for approximately 20 minutes. Torque to 30lbs.
|
|
STEP
19
Install
the 3/4" spacer seen in the top left of this image
on the end of the mainshaft that is extruding from the
rear output bearing. Just slide it over the end of the
shaft. You'll be securing it in the final step.
|
|
STEP
20
Apply
silicone gasket to the edge of the short "output
cone" or seal housing that Tom Wood provided with
his kit. Install the seal housing onto the end of the
rear output bearing housing and tighten the bolts.

STEP
21
This
is the completed Tom Wood Short Shaft Kit transfer case
assembly without the output flange. This gives you an
idea of length of the modified mainshaft of the finished
product.
|
|
STEP
22
Now
all you have to do is bolt down the output flange. The
end of the shortened mainshaft is threaded, so using
the hardware provided, bolt the flange over the end
of the mainshaft. Keep turning until the washer in the
center deforms. The output flange is now turned down
tight against the 3/4" spacer installed a few steps
ago.

been reinstalled, and we take a look at the completed
