Recently,
we took a visit to West Monroe, Louisiana. In order to kick off
the Skyjacker Monster Motor Nationals, Skyjacker hosted a sort
of open house, dubbed "A Day at Skyjacker."
Held on a Thursday, the event was open to anyone who wanted to
join in the fun.
In addition to the usual ways of getting the word
out, Skyjacker had one of the local radio stations broadcasting
on-site all day. This coupled with the fact that Skyjacker is
situated right next to the Interstate, brought a nice turn-out,
despite being a weekday.
The gang at Skyjacker put on a great open house.
On a very warm day in November, free popcorn and Coke's were available
for all attendees as they walked around and crawled under all
of the Skyjacker project vehicles. They also had monster trucks
on display and were even giving free rides in the Sergeant Smash
monster truck.
On-hand all day long were the Skyjacker staff,
giving demonstrations on their rockcrawling course in their Rock
Ready TJs and roaming the grounds answering questions.
While visiting,
we also had a chance to crawl underneath their Hummer H2 and Jeep
Liberty project vehicles to check out the newly-available suspension
kits and Platinum shocks.
It was a great
time and a unique opportunity to rub elbows with the guys behind
the scenes at Skyjacker. Not even at SEMA could you see this full
line of project rigs and have the chance to ask all the questions
you could ever want answers to. All this on a beautiful day in
a relaxed, family atmosphere. Let's hope they do it again soon!
