4x4ROCKSHOP.comIf you haven't heard of ARCA or the Goodyear/Skyjacker Extreme Rock Crawling Nationals yet, you're either new to the sport of rockcrawling or you've been just a wee bit out of touch for the last year or so. The American Rock Crawlers Association was formed with the intention of helping our sport grow. Through a series of events, ARCA is bringing organized competitions to four locations throughout 2001. The competitions are points-based and full explanations of the rules can be read here.

Last year was very exciting and crowd-pleasers such as Chris Durham, Jeff Waggoner, Steve Rumore, and Walker Evans became household names while showing off their high-tech rigs and driving skills. The ARCA events are not for the faint-of-heart, and require rigs as extreme as the terrain they are asked to drive over. Roll-overs and body damage are par for the course.

This year's first event was held at the Johnson Valley OHV area in California. ARCA partnered with land management officials to ensure that all regulations were met or exceeded, in order to retain their welcome in the future. What follows are some great photos from Johnson Valley. Maybe we'll see your rig at the next event in Las Cruces?
