33rd Annual Moab Easter Jeep Safari
Ken's Lake Trail

A few miles south of town lies Ken's Lake. Most of the area back there is made up of sandy hills and dunes. However, tucked deep in between those hills lies a trail that's really nothing but 150 yards of pure hell. During Heldorado, our TJ had sustained some suspension damage. We bent our new main tie-rod, sliced a tire, broke an ARB bulkhead on the front differential, and generally, just loosened up our suspension. But, we were not to be stopped. We decided to continue on and hit Ken's Lake Trail.

The entrance to the trail is enough to scare a lot of 'wheelers off.

By the end of the trail, my ARB up front had about given up and the compressor was running constantly. The final hill was pretty tricky to get up, considering the front-end was basically open.

There's a double ramp-like waterfall to get over just to get in.

Good thing Eric made it up. Mr.Ed ran out of gas down below and once refilled, his CJ-5 would not restart. Eric and I double-winched Ed up the 65 ft. hill.
