    Dear BRC Action Alert Subscriber,

BRC is has added another tool to help our members and supporters learn about the issues that affect you.

In an age of information overload, it’s difficult to filter out the chaff and focus on just one issue. And when that issue is recreational access — it’s even harder to tolerate the misinformation and bias!

BRC’s Recreation News provides a snapshot of breaking news on recreation and public lands issues. We break it down by state, link to the story, and, when the mood strikes, we even offer some of BRC’s legendary pithy commentary.

Each day BRC’s Public Lands Department staff scans the World Wide Web and the different media outlets in order to bring you the information that matters to you. We do this to help you protect your roads, trails and snowmobile areas.

BRC’s Recreation News is the place to stay on top of the issues.

To subscribe, just go to www.sharetrails.org/subscribe, and fill out the appropriate information. Then under “Please select the mailing lists you would like to be subscribed to:” select “BRC’s Recreation News” from the list of check boxes and then click “Subscribe”.

You must signup to receive BRC’s Recreation News even if you are already on the Action Alert list. This will not change any other list you are already signed up for.

    Thanks!

  • HUMMER Sale to Tengzhong Cannot be Completed

Wind down of HUMMER business to begin

Detroit – General Motors today announced that Sichuan Tengzhong Heavy Industrial Machines Co., Ltd. (Tengzhong) was unable to complete the acquisition of HUMMER. As a result, GM will begin the orderly wind-down of the HUMMER operations.

“One year ago, General Motors announced that we were going to divest HUMMER as part of focusing our efforts on Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac going forward. We have since considered a number of possibilities for HUMMER and are disappointed that the deal with Tengzhong could not be completed,” said John Smith GM vice president of corporate planning and alliances. “GM will now work closely with HUMMER employees, dealers and suppliers to wind down the business in an orderly and responsible manner.”

GM will continue to honor HUMMER warranties, while providing service support and spare parts to current HUMMER owners around the world.

  • TrailReady Beadlocks rule King of the Hammers

TrailReady Beadlocks cruised onto Johnson Valley’s Means Dry Lake to play David in this, the 4th Chapter of the King of the Hammers battle. Goliath was of course, the competition, the Official Wheel of the event, and had filled the field with soldiers on shiney new wheels.  In the end however, the story ended as it usually does, with TrailReady towering over the battered competition.   Loren Healy beat Brad Lovell to the finish line by a mere 28 seconds, both of them rolling on TrailReady’s HD17 Beadlock wheel.  Trailready Beadlocks crowded the top of the leader board.

    Loren Healy

TrailReady backs their product by offering a one year unlimited warranty on the HD series including race hazzard. As the only Cast Aluminum Beadlock wheel made in the USA, superior domestic casting methods result in a stonger product that is worthy of this unusual warranty.

    Brad Lovell
TrailReady Wheels enjoyed huge success in rock sports in 2009 with Tracy Jordon, the Lovells, Brian and Levi Shirley, among others, racking up wins and championships all season long.  Good Luck Goliath, maybe next time.
