Justin Davis Wins Baja 1000 and SCORE Championship in Class 1 on General Tires

Davis becomes the youngest Baja 1000 winner and SCORE championship winner at just 18 years of age.

Baja California, Mexico – (November 19, 2011) In a grueling battle to the end, General Tire’s Team GT member Justin Davis won the Class 1 division of the 44th annual Tecate SCORE Baja 1000. At just 18 years of age Davis becomes the youngest driver in history to win the Baja 1000. Without hesitations Davis completed the entire 692.82-mile course by himself chalking up win number three in Class 1 of his 2011 SCORE season. The Baja win also garnered him the title of 2011 SCORE Class 1 champion.

“This is so exciting for General Tire,” said Travis Roffler, marketing director, General Tire. “Justin was an iron man out there and we couldn’t be more proud of him. To be the youngest Baja 1000 winner and the youngest SCORE championship winner is just amazing.”

“I’m speechless right now,” said the young Davis immediately following the race. “This is definitely the hardest thing I’ve done but I couldn’t have done it without the help of my family and this great team. My General Tires were awesome out there and everything went as smoothly as it could have. I want to thank all the sponsors that have supported me this year. It feels good to win both the Baja 1000 and the SCORE championship.”
