2013 Torchmate Racing Team Announced

Torchmate_logo.1Expanding on the popular Torchmate Racing program Lincoln Electric Cutting Systems has added a few new faces to its robust line-up of racers. Joining long time team members like JT Taylor and 2012 TORC Pro Light Champion Brad Lovell, will be some of the best names in the business. 2013 Team Torchmate Roster: Brad Lovell

This year Lincoln Electric Cutting and Welding will partner with Ruffstuff Specialties of Loomis, California in the Free Open Pit Program that provides support at off road events across the Western States.  Utilizing a 2×4 Growth Series Torchmate, the team at Ruffstuff will start the season off with free repairs at the 2013 King of the Hammers event, February 1st through 9th.  Participants and spectators will be given the opportunity to test out the latest in Lincoln Welders, and get hands-on experience with Torchmate’s easy to operate TM CAD system.  No matter what type of support you need in the desert, Ruffstuff will be able to address your needs.

Wide Open Designs of Murfreesboro, Tennessee builds some of the wildest off road machines in the south. The team of fabricators will join the Lincoln Electric Cutting team utilizing a 5×10 Torchmate X table. Featured regularly on Spike TV’s Powerblock, these guys will continue to blend the function of high horsepower beasts with the artistry of custom fabricated show vehicles.

Casey Currie, Monster Energy /Kawasaki Team member, joins the team this year racing in the Lucas Oil Off Road Short-Course Series, and selected UTV races as well as continued promotion of his relationship with Feld Entertainment racing his Pro Lite during Monster Jam events. Currie will feature Lincoln Joining and Cutting products during two build projects to be highlighted as part of Torchmate’s Building Champions Program.

Joe Sylvester, Bad Habit Monster Truck Racer, will join the team after a long relationship with Lincoln Welders. Sylvester uses a Growth Series Torchmate machine to build and maintain his Monster Truck between his busy days traveling across the United States.

Robby Gordon, Dakar Rally and SCORE desert racer, will be back for his second year with Lincoln Electric Cutting, as he builds up his Stadium Super Truck Series (SST) with a Torchmate X table.  The SST Series roars to life this year in stadiums across the United States and includes a stop at the Long Beach Grand Prix.

Scott Sroufe of Brookings South Dakota will return for 2013. Sroufe will pilot his Wissota Midwest Modified Machine on the dirt oval, two nights a week during the summer in Minnesota and South Dakota. Scott Sroufe uses a 4×4 Torchmate to build and maintain his vehicle.

Gwen Garwood, of Sacramento California, is the youngest of the Lincoln racers at six years old. Gwen has been racing on dirt oval tracks for a couple years. She is a racer on the Torchmate Outlaw Kart team.
