    dirt riot coppermines 140PLACERVILLE, CA   APRIL 29, 2013:  The largest class of Dirt Riot UTV racers, to date, hit the course on Saturday April 13th at the Coppermines Offroad Park for the second round of the Dirt Riot Central Series.  There were 26 UTV’s on course, but that certainly didn’t take away from the Pro 4400 class where the top 3 all completed 13 laps within seconds of each other for the entire race.  “The Coppermines Park always has so much to offer the racers and spectators that we love to come back here every year, ” said Rich Klein, President and founder of W.E. Rock Events.  “We were excited to see such a great turn out in the UTV class.  We have always had this class as an option, with an easy entry fee and safety requirements, and I am glad that it is really starting to take off.” (more…)

  • SEMA Hails Proposal to Save Johnson Valley OHV Recreation Area

    Rep. Paul Cook’s Legislative Solution Would Also Provide Access for Marine Corps Training

    Diamond Bar, CA (April 23, 2013) – The Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) has endorsed a proposal by Rep. Paul Cook that would end a five-year debate on how to expand the U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) base at Twentynine Palms, California.  Under the compromise, the Marines would have access to the adjoining Johnson Valley Off-Highway (OHV) Recreation Area for up to 42 days a year for training exercises but the OHV area would be otherwise preserved in perpetuity.  (more…)

  • Dana Adds Ratios to Spicer® Ring and Pinion Gear Offerings for Dana 44 and Dana 60 Models

    MAUMEE, Ohio, April 22, 2013 – Dana Holding Corporation (NYSE: DAN) announced today it has expanded its Spicer® ring and pinion gear options for Dana 44TM (226 mm) and Dana 60TM (248mm) rear axles to include additional ratios, while ensuring top-of-the-line part quality through the manufacturing processes.

  • NO GRAIN OF SAND! BILL INTRODUCED INTO CONGRESS THAT WILL ESTABLISH JOHNSON VALLEY AS NATIONAL OHV AREA.

    save-the-hammers.org_Today marks an historic day for the OHV community.

    The attached bill is the language that will be noticed this morning with the Natural Resources Committee for a hearing next Friday. The intent of the bill is to protect all of Johnson Valley for recreational use, particularly off-highway vehicles, and provide the Marine Corps with narrow training opportunities per the approval of BLM (it specifically excludes the use dud-producing ordinance). There is no intent to close down any uses currently going on inside Johnson Valley (including mining claims). There is a strong desire to keep this bill focused on preserving Johnson Valley.
