  • W.E. Rock Professional Rock Crawling Eastern Season Opener this Weekend in Dayton, TN

    Professional Rock Crawling Friday and Saturday Nights April 19th and 20th starting at 7pm Eastern Time

    WE Rock 4.19PLACERVILLE, CA   APRIL 17, 2013:  This weekend brings Professional Rock Crawling back to the most well known 4×4 rock crawling wall in the Eastern Series: just outside Dayton Tennessee at 35 Pitts Gap Road, Graysville, TN. The event is very spectator and family friendly with the professional drivers available to sign autographs and throw gifts into the crowd in midst of the competition.  “We love coming to Dayton to kick off the Eastern Pro Rock Crawling Series, the crowd here is amazing and a ton of fun,” said Rich Klein, President and founder of W.E. Rock Events. “We really appreciate everyone that comes out to cheer on the competitors.  They work hard all year to put on a show, and they really bring the show to Dayton!”

  • Nitto Tire’s West Wins WIDIA Rausch Creek Qualifier

    335April 15th, 2013: Rausch Creek, PA: Last weekend’s WIDIA Rausch Creek Qualifier proved to be one of the coldest, wettest races in ULTRA4 history. Heavy rains on Friday produced thick fog and low-visibility conditions, prompting race organizer, Dave Cole to move qualifying to Saturday morning just two hours before the main race. 2010 Rausch Creek Champion, Derek West qualified 4th for the main race behind two former Kings of the Hammers, Shannon Campbell and Erik Miller, as well as 2012’s Rausch Creek winner, Bill Baird. By the second lap, West had worked his way past all three competitors to claim the lead and never looked back.

  • Keep Recovery Gear Accessible

    Recovery01LYou’re in the middle of nowhere stuck in the sand. Your buddy waits patiently while you paw through your car looking for the recovery strap and gear needed to get you out of your bind.

    “I know it’s in here somewhere!” you scream (along with a few choice words).

    Your off-road adventure is becoming a disaster because you either didn’t pack a recovery strap, or you packed it so deeply it’ll take you a long time to find it.

    Sometimes a vehicle is really stuck, but most situations can be resolved with a basic recovery strap (flat or rope). Problem is, the necessary equipment often isn’t within easy reach if it was packed at all. (more…)

  • Arizona Desert Racing Association Headed to Rocky Point for Thunder on the Beach Shootout Race

    Rocky PointGILBERT, AZ    APRIL 8, 2013:  The Arizona Desert Racing Association continues it’s second season with the Thunder on the Beach Shootout desert race in Rocky Point Mexico on April 26th and 27th.  Friday’s Poker Run is open to anyone from 4-6pm for only $10 per vehicle.  Saturday’s race will be broken down into Sportsman classes in the morning at 9am, and Pro classes in the afternoon at 1pm.  “The Sand Beach Resort area in Rocky Point is incredible.  I have been down there a couple of times setting up the course and it is going to be really cool,” said Tim Jones, President of the Arizona Desert Racing Association.  “It will be a 20 mile loop of fast sections with fun twists including a sand hill and a short course track in the infield.” (more…)

  • CELEBRATE FIFTY YEARS OF BAJA RACING WITH OFF-ROAD LEGENDS AT THE PETERSEN AUTOMOTIVE MUSEUM

    Parnelli Jones and Dave Ekins will answer audience members’ questions at a tribute dinner that kicks off the Petersen’s one-day Off-Road Show and summer exhibition, Braving Baja: 1,000 Miles to Glory, presented by American Honda Motorcycle Division.

(April, 2013) – To prove the durability of its motorcycles, American Honda sent a CL72 Scrambler on a 950 mile trek through rocks, sand washes, dry lake beds, mountain passes and paved roads. Fifty years later, that 1960s run is remembered for  initiating one of the most significant off-road races for both two and four wheeled vehicles in the world—the Baja 1000. Legendary racers Dave Ekins and Parnelli Jones will help the Petersen Automotive Museum honor Baja with a tribute dinner, one-day off road show, and summer-long exhibition: Braving Baja, 1,000 Miles to Glory, presented by American Honda Motorcycle Division.   • Scherer Dominates at ULTRA 4 MetalCloak Nor Cal Stampede

    PRAIRIE CITY SVRA, CA APRIL 9th, 2013: More than 2,000 fans attended the inaugural ULTRA4 MetalCloak Nor Cal Stampede held at the Prairie City State Park near Sacramento, CA last weekend.  Over the course of two days and multiple heats, 48 ULTRA4 cars waged battle on a brutal two mile course that left only 29 vehicles running by the final two races. Drivers pushed their cars to the limit in this first race of the 2013 ULTRA4 Trail Gear Western Regional series in pursuit of both a podium finish and a chance to qualify for the 2014 Griffin King of The Hammers Presented by Nitto Tire.  Ultimately, two former Kings and the son of a King claimed the podium.  2009 King of The Hammers, Jason Scherer took the checkered flag followed closely by 2010 King, Loren Healy, and third place went to the youngest King of the Hammers competitor to date, 17 year old Wayland Campbell, the son of the only two-time King, Shannon Campbell.
