Jason Scherer Prepared to Take on Arizona Desert at Ultra4 Nitto Tires National Finals

Jason Scherer - Ultra4

Jason Scherer - Ultra4DANVILLE, CA   SEPTEMBER 25, 2013   Jason Scherer would like to cap off the season with a solid race at the 2013 Ultra4 Nitto Tires National Finals in Congress, Arizona this weekend.  “This has been an interesting season to say the least; we have won poles, won events and then plagued with transmission failures.  We have lead a lot of laps and had the speed to win, but part failures have taken us out before the checker flag,” said Jason Scherer, driver of the Rubicon Express #76 car.  “We won the National race last year in Texas and feel we may have found the solution to our car troubles just in time to come to Arizona and compete strong this weekend.” Then Jason adds, “After this race I can’t wait to get up to the Rubicon Trail in my 2014 JK and test out the new Rubicon Express suspension and Smittybilt products that are being installed at 4Wheel Parts while we are at the race!”

This will be the last race for the PSC Motorsports Ultra4 car driven by Jason Scherer.  “The last two years have been a great partnership with Tom Allen and PSC Motorsports, however it has been decided to sell the car at the end of the 2013 season,” said Scherer.  “Myself, Rage 4th and Team Awesome are in the process of starting a build for next season.  We have been pushing the envelope of technology and I see where a few changes can make the new car 20% faster and 50% more reliable than the last car.  The PSC car never lacked in speed, we lacked in consistency.”

Rubicon Express, Nitto Tires and many more of the teams existing sponsors will be involved in this new vehicle build.  If your company would like to be included, please reach out.  Production will start next week.

Jason Scherer - Ultra4

Jason Scherer started on the pole position at the 2013 Griffin King of the Hammers presented by Nitto Tires and finished 21st with 25 minutes to go. Jason completed two entire laps of the race with no power steering, stating it was one of the most physically and mentally demanding races in his career.  The win at the MetalCloak NorCal Stampede, at Prairie City SVRA came with a lot of work.  After placing first in his heat on Friday he could hear the front differential making a lot of noise and knew that in order to get through the main race, they would need to fix it, which took all night and we’re ready for the green flag of the main race just in the nick of time.  The second pole position for the season came at the 4Wheel Parts Grand Prix race after having the fastest heat lap times, followed by leading every lap of the race until the transmission failed.

The Ultra4 car is still wrapped in the army green color with Air Force style panels complimenting the strong Rubicon Express, Nitto Tires and PSC Steering logos. Jason Scherer will be pitting out of the Rage 4th and Team Awesome pits this weekend.  Jason will be available all weekend to sign posters for anyone that would like one or two for their home, shop or office!
