    Vision X Lighting Racers Triumphant at 46th Tecate SCORE Baja 1000

    Vision X - Baja 1000November 20, 2013 – Algona, WA – Racers using Vision X Lighting outshine the rigors and darkness of the the 46th Tecate SCORE Baja 1000 to claim multiple class wins and class championships.

    The grueling yet majestic terrain in Baja California, Mexico put 251 starters to the ultimate test of man and machine as they forged through over 900 miles of mountains, deserts, deep sand washes, dry lake beds, silt beds, mud holes and cactus fields. After 18 hours of continual punishment the first finishers began cross the finish line, and after over 35 hours less than half of the starters would see the checkered flag. (more…)

    King Shocks Dominates the SCORE Baja 1000

    King Shocks - 2013 Baja 1000NOVEMBER 21, 2013 – The Tecate SCORE Baja 1000 held its 46th annual motorsport competition across the Baja peninsula and over a most treacherous journey through the wild deserts and into the untamed mystique of Northern Mexico. Known as the world’s most arduous non-stop off road racing event, the Baja 1000 demands every ounce of courage that one could muster just to even take the green flag and start down the course at speed. Braver than most,BJ Baldwin, dominated Baja in a King Shock equipped Chevrolet Silverado Trophy Truck and crossed the finish line during the early hours of Saturday morning on November 16, 2013 to claim the overall victory. Baldwin completed the 883 mile event in just over 18 hours 36 minutes at an average speed of 47.5 MPH. (more…)

    From the lights of the Las Vegas strip to the high desert of Reno, Nevada, this year’s General Tire Vegas to Reno challenged some of the best drivers the off road racing industry has to offer. Five hundred and fifty miles across the Mojave Desert at temperatures reaching upwards of 108 degrees gave everyone a run for their money.     Garrick Freitas won the 2012 General Tire Vegas to Reno race on 35" DOT approved GRABBER's.Fort Mill, SC – August 16, 2013.  Noted as the longest off-road race in the U.S., the General Tire Vegas to Reno race provides a platform for General Tire to showcase their signature red letter GRABBER tire which was born from competition.  Originally developed in the desert, the GRABBER tire, and its technologies, transcend the race course and are available to consumers at dealerships across the country.  But it was a lengthy process, and labor of love, to bring the GRABBER to life.

    “Once we began testing the GRABBER tire, we spent a couple years in the desert refining the technologies,” said Tony Talbert, tuning key account manager for General Tire.  “We modified the tire two to three times until it worked well in the desert before bringing it to the street.” (more…)
