    Carl Renezeder chalks up eighth career championship at LOORRS finale.

    Fort Mill, SC – (December 20, 2011) With championships, pride and the largest pay day in short-course history on the line, the 2011 Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series (LOORRS) season did not disappoint. Carl Renezeder led the Team GT contingency by winning the Pro-4 Unlimited championship, his eighth career championship title. Renezeder made his mark in the history annals logging in 14 podium finishes containing three wins, nine seconds and two thirds to finish out the 2011 LOORRS season. And for those keeping track, that’s 14 podium finishes out of 15 races. This is simply an amazing feat for the championship driver. (more…)

  • General Tire and Baldwin Motorsports Amicably Part Ways

    General Tire will continue to support desert off-road racing.

    Fort Mill, SC – December 19, 2011. General Tire and Baldwin Motorsports will amicably part ways at the end of this year. Following extensive internal discussions, officials at General Tire determined that they need to focus on fulfilling the needs of the high consumer demand for General Tire products and are unable to accommodate the product request required by Baldwin Motorsports by the beginning of the 2012 season.   • RJ Anderson Finishes 2011 Racing Season on Top

    LOORS UTV Champion, SuperLite Challenge Cup WIN, TORC Rookie of The Year

    Rj PodiumRiverside, CA 12/13/2011 –   The 2011 off-road racing season ended in spectacular fashion for the Walker Evans Racing (WER) team.  Driver RJ Anderson clinched his very first UTV Unlimited Championship in the final rounds of racing at the Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Series (LOORRS) finale in Chandler, AZ at the always fun Firebird International Raceway.  It has been a long time coming for RJ and his #637 Walker Evans Racing /South Point Casino Polaris RZR.  Having competed in all 3 seasons of LOORRS in a UTV and seeming to always fall just a few points short of winning it all, it was really encouraging to RJ, the Walker Evans Racing team, and all of his sponsors to come out this year and dominate like he did.   • FOX and McMillin Racing Capture Overall Four-Wheel Vehicle and Trophy Truck Victory at 2011 Tecate SCORE Baja 1000

    McMillin Racing’s win makes it eleven Trophy Truck wins in a row for FOX Bryce Menzies takes the overall points championship with his third place finish.

    Santee, CA December 14, 2011– FOX has secured an unprecedented eleventh consecutive SCORE trophy truck win with McMillin Racing’s overall four-wheel vehicle and trophy truck class win at the Tecate SCORE Baja 1000.   • Mad Media & Best in The Desert to Produce the Greatest Off-Road Race in the World – The Legendary Mint 400

    General Tire Presents The Mint 400The world-renowned General Tire Mint 400 was recently acquired by The Martelli Brothers – partners in the nationally recognized marketing/production group Mad Media – who have since formed a multi-year partnership with Casey Folks of Best in the Desert to manage the event.  The Mint will now be part of The Best in the Desert American Off-Road Racing Series, but will remain open to privateers.  Hundreds of race teams will compete in twenty different classes of race vehicles at next year’s Mint 400, which will take place the weekend of March 23rd – 25th 2012 in Las Vegas, Nevada.   • Rollercoaster Ride for Team LeDuc Racing At Short Course Season Finale

    The LeDucs were flying high at FirebirdThe Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series (LOORRS) season came to a close last weekend at Firebird International Raceway in Chandler, Arizona.  The grandstands were packed as fans watched Kyle LeDuc dominate the Pro4 Unlimited field in his No. 99 Rockstar Energy Drink / Makita Tools F-150.  Kyle had qualified first and ran away from the competition early and never looked back, setting the fast lap in the process.  Meanwhile, Kyle’s brother Todd was battling with rally driver Liam Doran for fourth place for much of the race, with both trucks shedding their body panels in the process.  Todd won the battle with Doran and finished just off the podium.  Todd finished third in season points in the No. 4 Rockstar Energy Drink / Makita Tools Ford and took home Rookie of the Year honors for the class in the process.  Kyle LeDuc finished just in front of his brother for second place this season, while his six Pro4 Unlimited victories were more than any other driver in 2011.  Father Curt LeDuc battled the flu in addition to his competitors, finishing seventh on Saturday in his No. 43 Makita Tools / TRUXXX Lift and Level Ford and eighth for the season out of 18 drivers in Pro4 Unlimited.
