Baja California, Mexico – (November 20, 2011) In one of the most strenuous Baja 1000 races to date, Team GT driver Marc Burnett had to overcome a broken collar bone as he attacked the 692-mile course. Burnett got off to a great start but close to mile-marker 222 had to stop for a three hour repair. The unscheduled stop was indeed a set-back but it looked as if Burnett would be able to fight through and add to his Baja 1000 wins. Unfortunately his hopes of a win were dashed, but Burnett powered through 692 miles with un-matched grit and determination to capture second in Class 6 and second-place in the overall SCORE Series championship. Baja California, Mexico – (November 19, 2011) In a grueling battle to the end, General Tire’s Team GT member Justin Davis won the Class 1 division of the 44th annual Tecate SCORE Baja 1000. At just 18 years of age Davis becomes the youngest driver in history to win the Baja 1000. Without hesitations Davis completed the entire 692.82-mile course by himself chalking up win number three in Class 1 of his 2011 SCORE season. The Baja win also garnered him the title of 2011 SCORE Class 1 champion.
