  • Roger Norman New Look at BITD Vegas to Reno

    Roger Norman Qualifies 18th Overall, 10th in Class

    RENO, NV     AUGUST 17, 2011  –  Roger Norman and Jake Velasco qualified in the #8 Wide Open Excursions, Crystal Bay Casino Class 1400 Trick Truck for the longest race on US Soil, the Best in the Desert Vegas to Reno that starts at 9:30am Friday August 19th.  On Wednesday, Norman qualified taking the 18th starting position, and 10th in the class of 28 Trick Trucks. “We had a clean run today with no issues and qualified mid-pack,” said Roger Norman after racing in 107’ Las Vegas heat.  “This is a long and dusty race across the Nevada desert, and we wanted to start out front, but would rather start with a truck that we didn’t have to work on tonight.” (more…)

  • MDR California 200 Memorial Located at Slash-X Ranch Café

    MESA, AZ – AUGUST 16, 2011:   The MDR California 200 Memorial has been permanently located at the Slash-X Ranch Café at 28040 Barstow Road (Hwy 247) in Stoddard Valley, 8 miles south of Barstow, CA for all to visit for years to come.  The dedication on Saturday August 13, 2011, one day less than a year after the accident that changed so many lives in the offroad community, was built around the true spirit of life. “The whole concept is meaningful: a figure 8 with the Ribbon Memorial sitting at the very top.  Eight trees dedicated to those lost surround it, with 22 lights going up the walkway and 22 shrubs planted to represent the injured,” said Lucas Hand, project leader for FAST-Aid.   • Lasher Motorsports heads to the BITD Vegas to Reno Race this weekend!

    This weekend the Lasher Motorsports team heads to Las Vegas, NV for the TSCO Vegas to Reno Race.   Sitting 3rd in the points championship the Lasher Motorsports teams is looking to improve their position at Vegas to Reno.The team has used the off season to focus on improving their Kawasaki Teryx.  Since the Blue Water Grand Prix in April the team has completely gone through the car not leaving one nut or bolt untouched.  A fresh 916cc V-twin from Muzzy’s was installed and the XMF suspension and Walker Evens shocks were freshened up to tackle the 554 miles of Nevada Desert that the team will face on Friday.   • Robby Woods Earns A Pair of Podium Finishes At Glen Helen Raceway

    Robby Woods came to Glen Helen Raceway last weekend with a score to settle.  While Woods currently resides in the top ten in the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series (LOORRS) premier Pro2 Unlimited class, his first visit to historic Glen Helen Raceway this season did not meet his demanding expectations.  LOORRS’ return to Glen Helen started on Friday with Woods qualifying third amongst 15 of the best off-road racers on the planet.  When he was not on the track, Robby Woods was busy signing autographed posters and handing out free t-shirts to fans.  When the Pro2 Unlimited trucks took the green flag Saturday under the night lights, the crowd was a sea of blue Dethrone Royalty shirts cheering for Woods and his No. 99 Lucas Slick Mist / Superchips Chevrolet.

    San Bernardino, Calif. – (Aug. 15, 2011) – Team General Tire’s unstoppable off-road force is at it again, tearing up the Glen Helen Raceway in San Bernardino during Round 9 and 10 of the Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Series Aug. 6 and 7. Young-gun Dawson Kirchner topped the podium in Super Lite on Saturday, with teammates Robby Woods taking 2nd in Pro 2, Carl Renezeder grabbing 2nd in Pro 4 and Quentin Tucker taking home 2nd in Limited Buggy. On Sunday, Renezeder walked away with 3rd in Pro 4, Woods took 2nd in Pro 2 and Kirchner returned to the podium to take 3rd in Super Lite. (more…)
