Robby Woods came to Utah for Rounds 7 and 8 of the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series (LOORRS) looking to make a statement in the marquee Pro2 Unlimited division. Unlike many of the top tier teams that have seemingly unlimited budgets and store-bought race trucks, Robby Woods campaigns a truck that he designed and built himself and races on a modest budget with close family and friends. Yet Woods still competes at the highest level of short course racing and often beats better funded racers, just as he did in Utah. There is no doubt that many new Robby Woods fans emerged from the packed bleachers at Miller Motorsports Park. (more…)

Pikes Peak International Hill Climb: It’s Majestic Mountain
httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qxWdny5iGNk
Survival of the Mountain is not only about the vehicle. It’s not only about the perfect set of tires, the correct jetting, and the right set up.
Survival of the Mountain is not only about the driver. It’s not only about the fastest driver, the most experienced, and the drivers ambition.
Survival of the Mountain is respecting the Mountain for its grace, beauty and difficulty at every turn. Respecting Mother Nature changing the weather at any point during the day, and even within the 10+ minute run up into the sky. Enjoying the scenery and the commodore that is built within the groups of racers. Survival of the Mountain is knowing how to “Gas it until you see God, and then hit the brakes,” said a racer on KRDO Radio. (more…)

CalROCS Round 3, Brown Valley CA – New Holes, New Rocks, and Llamas
Saturday June 25th: The weekend started in the early hours with the drivers walking the new courses that Kurtis Harryman had laid out for them. Harryman knew all the drivers were disappointed that they could not run at Donnor this weekend. The amount of snowfall, the Tahoe area received this winter broke records and is still melting off. This is why Round 3 of the CalROCS extreme racing series had to be moved to Brown Valley.CalROCS had a few tricks up their sleeves to pick up the drivers’ spirits. Harryman brought out “Frank’s Backhoe, Inc.” to help change the landscape a bit. They dug into the earth, making hug holes around the already challenging obstacles and found massive boulders that were used to build rock gardens to flex all the rigs to the max. The drivers could not wait to hit these new obstacles and be the first to conquer them. Harryman set up bonus lines around the best new lines to encourage the drivers to put on a show for the crowd.
