RENO, NV APRIL 27, 2011 Torchmate Racing JT Taylor will be driving #4413 and Jesse Haines will be driving #4499 at the Best in the Desert Bilek Silver State 300 race this weekend in the commonly known Ultra4 class which will be the largest class at this years Silver State event. Mike Shaffer will be running the Torchmate racing #1066 Class 1000 car. The race will start in Alamo, Nevada about 95 miles north of Las Vegas on Saturday April 30th. The Aliante Casino & Resort will host the race events and tech and inspection on Friday. (more…)

For the eighth time in a row at a SCORE desert race, FOX Racing Shox earned the top spot among the elite SCORE Trophy Truck class. With victory at the 2011 San Felipe 250, Rob MacCachren continued the winning ways of SCORE Trophy Trucks equipped with FOX Racing Shox. Baja 1000 Champion, Andy McMillin started the FOX winning streak at the 2009 SCORE Baja 1000. Joining McMillin and MacCachren in the winner’s circle over the past two years are Jesse Jones, Gustavo Vildosola, and Bryce Menzies.

Mike Childress Looks To Build Upon His General Tire SNORE Mint 400 Win At This Weekend’s BITD Silver State 300
Mike Childress and navigator Jimmy Hook stunned the competition when they bested a talent-rich field of 16 Class 1 Unlimited drivers at this year’s General Tire SNORE Mint 400. “People were surprised that we beat Harvey Letner and TJ Flores in only our second race in the new THR Motorsports car,” Childress commented after the race, “but we have always known we have what it takes to win.” Held within view of the bright lights of Las Vegas, Nevada, “The Great American Desert Race” is regarded as one of the most difficult and prestigious off-road races in the world. Rough Weekend Of Racing Can’t Keep ROCKSTAR Energy / Makita Tools Kyle LeDuc Off The Podium
Speedworld Off Road Park in Surprise, Arizona is a notoriously rugged track; particularly the stutter bumps in the infield that result in only one tire on the ground at any given time. While that made for exciting short course racing in Rounds 3 and 4 of the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series (LOORRS) last weekend, when you are feeding 900 horsepower to all four Toyo Open Country M/T tires, like Team LeDuc’s three Pro4 Unlimited trucks, something has to give. “Every time we break something we learn from that,” explained the always humble Curt LeDuc. “We would just rather do our learning in practice that when we are racing.” (more…)
