  • Yokohama Tire Corporation’s 2011 Motorsports Program Gears Up

    Tire maker continues with teams in off-road and ALMS, plus “eco-racing’ in the GT3 Challenge and GTC series

    FULLERTON, CA (March 15, 2011) – From rugged desert terrains to legendary tracks such as Sebring International Raceway, Yokohama Tire Corporation’s motorsports program will be in full swing in 2011. Once again, Yokohama will be involved in off-road racing’s SCORE, SNORE and Lucas Oil series, as well as endurance racing in the competitive ALMS classes. Additionally, Yokohama’s breakthrough eco-racing campaign will continue in the GT3 and GTC series with its orange oil-infused ADVAN® ENV-R2™, the first – and only – environmentally-friendly tire used in a racing series.

  • Yokohama Tire Corporation-Sponsored Heidi Steele Wins SCORE San Felipe 250

    Former two-time champion Steele and co-driver Rene Brugger come from behind to take Class 6 title on off-the-shelf Geolandar M/T+® tires

    FULLERTON, CA. – (March 14, 2011) – Yokohama Tire Corporation-sponsored Heidi Steele captured her first race of the season, winning the Class 6 title at the 25th MasterCraft Safety Tecate SCORE San Felipe 250 in Baja, California on March 12.

    Driving her customary Ford Ranger, Steele, the former Class 6 (unlimited, production mini trucks) and Class 7 (open, production mini trucks) champion, and her co-driver and Desert Assassins teammate Rene Brugger, finished the demanding course on off-the-shelf Yokohama Geolandar M/T+® tires in 5:50:40.  (more…)

  • Rob MacCachren Claims the Overall Win at the MasterCraft Safety Tecate SCORE San Felipe 250

    Rob MacCachren has long held a reputation for being a talented driver, the kind of “hired gun” you add to the team to guarantee victory.  Yet despite over 175 event wins and 20 championships, his “hired gun” status also meant that he had never won a SCORE Trophy Truck race as the Driver of Record.  All that changed when MacCachren and co-driver, Cisco Bio, bested a field of 220 worthy competitors at the 2011 MasterCraft Safety Tecate SCORE San Felipe 250 in the No. 20 SCORE Trophy Truck sponsored by Rockstar Energy Drink and MasterCraft Safety. “We have knocked on the door and come so close so many times; it is great to finally take home the victory for everyone who has worked so hard to make this program possible.  I didn’t just want this win for myself and the sponsors, I wanted it for the team.” (more…)
  • King Shocks Continues to Support MORR Sportsman Racers in a Big Way

    March 10, 2011 (Appleton, WI) -King Shocks enters into its second year of Contingency support for MORR members competing in the 2011 Traxxas TORC Series presented by AMSOIL. The Contingency Plan awards competitors running King Shocks with a $100 product or service certificate when they win their class. This covers all Sportsman classes; Classix, Enduro Truck, Formula 4×4, Light Buggy, Single Buggy, Super Stock Truck, Super Buggy, and Super Truck during all twelve rounds of racing.     East Coast Offroad Racing Series Announces March Race at The Flats in Marion, North Carolina

    ECORS adds new UTV class in its five-race series for 2011

    GREENVILLE, NC – March 9, 2011 – East Coast Offroad Racing Series (ECORS, www.ecors.com) announces its first race in the 2011 racing series to be held at The Flats in Marion, NC, on March 12, 2011.

    ECORS is a traveling race series that will be hosting five races at various Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) destinations in the Southeast in 2011. Each class of vehicle runs separate courses depending on difficulty and has a designated amount of time to complete a pre-determined amount of laps. (more…)
