The Xtreme Outlaws 250 will start at the Grand Sierra Resort (GSR), run through the streets of Reno and Virginia City, and then far into the wild desert.  Racers including John Harrah, Roger Norman, Chuck Dempsey, Sam Berri and Dave Cole are making final preparations for this weekends new Father’s Day tradition.   • W.E. Rock at Donner Ski Ranch over Father’s Day Weekend Will Include Snow Obstacles

    RENO, NV   JUNE 14, 2010:  Rock’n @ the Ranch, the 3rd event of the W.E. Rock Western US National Series, will take place at Donner Ski Ranch in Norden, CA over Father’s Day weekend, June 19th-20th, 2010. The event is set to attract at least 55 teams who will compete on some of the craziest courses this location has ever seen.  To kick off the weekend events, Torchmate will be hosting the Team Meet and Greet BBQ during Tech Inspection at the Torchmate facilities in Reno, NV.   • Heidi Steele Battles Baja 500 for 2nd Place Finish on Yokohama Tires

    Off-road champion finishes punishing 438-mile course on off-the-shelf Geolandar M/T+® tires

    FULLERTON, CA. – (June 8, 2010) – Yokohama Tire-sponsored off-road champion Heidi Steele battled the toughest SCORE Baja 500 course in her career yet still managed to claim second place. The 42nd running of the event was held in Ensenada, Mexico on June 5.

    “This year’s Baja 500 was one of the toughest courses I have experienced in my six years of racing,” said Steele, the defending SCORE Class 6 champion, who completed the course on off-the-shelf Yokohama Geolandar M/T+® tires. “We battled and finished with a solid second place finish just over 12 minutes out of first.  Third place was well over six hours behind us.” (more…)

  • MasterCraft Racing / Rockstar Energy Drink Overcomes Adversity At 2010 Tecate SCORE Baja 500

    By all accounts, the MasterCraft Racing / Rockstar Energy Drink team was going to be a force to be reckoned with at the 2010 Tecate SCORE Baja 500.  With three SCORE Trophy Trucks starting in the top ten and incredibly strong finishes at the MasterCraft Safety Tecate SCORE San Felipe 250, expectations were justifiably high.  Unfortunately, things did not go as planned.  “That is why we race,” explained a sage Robbie Pierce, CEO of MasterCraft Safety.  “If we already knew who was going to  take home the victory, it wouldn’t be very exciting. The  unforgiving and challenging Baja peninsula always has a way of keeping things interesting, and that is one of the biggest appeals of desert racing.”
