    ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (March 12, 2016) – 2015 SST Champion Sheldon Creed ran away and hid from the field on the way to his third SPEED Energy Stadium SUPER Trucks Presented by TRAXXAS victory of the young 2016 season at the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg Saturday.

    Surfers Paradise, Queensland, Australia driver Matt Brabham driving the United Fiber and Data No. 83 and SST newcomer Tyler McQuarrie of Walnut Creek, Calif., in his SafeCraft Saftey Equipment TRAXXAS truck put on show of the 8-lap race battling side-by-side for the capacity crowd that lined the 14-turn 1.8 mi (2.9 km) temporary street circuit. The course is laid out in reverse direction as years past, as well as offering some new trail areas that have not seen racing action in years, if ever before.  The offroad 4×4 racing will be perfect combination of fast areas and technical rock areas for the list of Central Series racers that have been racing for years, and for the new racers this year.     The Mint 400 announced the return of the Pit Crew Challenge, this year with new title sponsor Method Race Wheels.  This year marks the fifth consecutive year The Mint 400 will host the ultimate single-elimination pit crew challenge contest in front of a crowd of thousands of off-road enthusiasts and race team members.

    The showdown will be held at the “Method Race Wheels Pit Crew Lot” on 9th & Fremont St. The event is free, open to the public and will be held Thursday, March 10th at 7:30pm, right after the crowning of the new 2016 Miss Mint 400!

    The Trick Truck (1400) and Class 1 (1500) overall prize features a stunning custom floor jack trophy hand painted by Kelly and Sons Crazy Painters.

    The Method Race Wheels Mint 400 Pit Crew Challenge is a celebration of the dedicated mechanics, volunteers, and pit captains that spend countless hours prepping, maintaining and fixing off-road race vehicles before, during, and after they compete.
