    unnamed (14)Cypress, Calif. (January 8, 2015) – On December 22, 2014, Nitto Tire U.S.A. signed an agreement with Hammerking Productions (Ultra4) to be title sponsor of the 2015 Nitto King of the Hammers (KOH) race. Nitto Tire was previously the race’s presenting sponsor.

    The King of the Hammers race is recognized as America’s toughest one-day event in off-road racing and covers 200+ miles on a course that combines triple-digit-speed desert sections with technical boulder climbs that often require winching. The 2015 running – the ninth annual King of the Hammers — will be the first one with Nitto Tire as the title sponsor. (more…)

    2015 Vision X ULTRA4 vs. SRRS East/West Shootout Presented by Sway-A-Way

    unnamed (8)Dec. 23rd, 2014 – JOHNSON VALLEY, CA: After a successful debut in 2014, the Vision X ULTRA4 vs. SRRS East/West Shootout presented by Sway-A-Way will be returning to Johnson Valley, CA during KOH Week 2015. The event which pits the Southern Rock Racing Series (SRRS) Rock Bouncers against ULTRA4 cars in a shootout will again take place on the Monday preceding the 2015 Nitto King of The Hammers.The event will feature a combined 50 drivers from both racing series and will be held at 6PM on February 2nd, 2015. The canyon to be used for the shootout remains undisclosed at this time and will be announced in the coming weeks.

    THE BATTLE OF THE BAJA

    unnamed (13)Colorado Springs, CO 11/18/14 – We have had several class wins in the Baja but the race is not something you ever really conquer. No matter how many times I race there, it never fails to drop my jaw. It has little to do with a typical American desert race, it is the Baja 1000. The only thing you can prepare for is for everything to go awry. At times the race is peaceful, other times intense with screaming crowds, often terrifying with unseen hazards hiding in a sinister haze.

    WE TAKE AN EARLY LEAD

    I had the privilege of driving the start of the race this year for the BFGoodrich Tires BC-1 car. The start definitely falls in the “intense” category and I loved every minute of it. The excitement and hazard of the fans lining the course has no equivalent. Fans try to touch the car as it goes by and dumbest of all – even lie in the road on the far side of jumps. While a wild ride, we made it through with nothing but positive experiences and put 35 miles on the 2nd place car in the first 308 miles.  (more…)

(Nov. 3, 2014) – BFGoodrich® Tires wrapped up a solid off road short course racing season by securing 19 total wins, a championship in the Pro Lite class and was named Tire Manufacturer of the Year for the 2014 Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series. The brands 76 total podium finishes was more than any other tire manufacturer competing in the series.

    Many young drivers took center stage in the Pro Lite class but one stood out amongst the rest and that is “The Prodigy of Short Course,” Sheldon Creed.  The young gun won his first ever Pro Lite Championship this past weekend and celebrated with teammates, family and friends. Throughout the season, Creed was consistent on finishing in the top of the class. A solid truck and a natural talent for driving are just a few of the factors that play into taking a championship.
