Double Header Weekend for the Lovell Brothers

Colorado Springs, CO 6/19/14 – It was back to the short track for the Lovell Brothers this past weekend. Brad raced rounds 5 & 6 in the TORC Series while Roger raced the #232 Ultra 4 in front of a hometown crowd at RAM Off-Road Park where he won last year.

“It was all about the jumps!” said Roger Lovell after pre-running the 5-mile course at the Lovell’s favorite local track, “The tempo and timing is everything. I can push harder but then your over jumping everything and flat landing the truck. You can do that, but not for 3 hours!” That smart tempo paid off last year and Roger is always good at staying focused on his race.

DsquaredRacing Takes Podium, Makes Impression In Prairie City

June 6-7, 2014 – Awaking from the aftermath of the 2014 King of the Hammers, the Western Ultra4 racing community officially began the 2014 series with the Metal Cloak Stampede in Prairie City, CA – home of the NorCal Rock Racing series. With the largest list of drivers ever entered in a series event, over ninety-nine teams gathered in 100+ degree heat ready to battle it out for top honors. D2R was one of these teams, armed with the newly updated Trent Fab Top Shelf IFS car; this race would be in indicator of what to expect in the upcoming season.

Driven Experiences Inaugural Baja 500 Successful

GATEWAY, CO JUNE 17, 2014: Driven Experiences first run at the SCORE Baja races proves their Arrive and Drive Trophy Truck Spec program has the gears to become a long-term program. Driven Experiences gave two clients with a dream to race Baja an intensive two week drivers training between Driven Experiences training facility at Gateway Canyons Resort in Colorado, the deserts of Barstow California and a full week in Baja pre-running. The team felt confidence that the clients had all the tools to be successful at the wave of the green flag.

“It’s been a good experience. I’m excited that we got them to this point and now we just need to get them starting the race in the morning. It has been a journey for sure, but I think it’s a testament to our crew getting the job done. Tom Wayes Wins Ultra4 NorCal Stampede After Last to Qualify In B Main

TAHOE CITY, CA JUNE 11, 2014 Sometimes it doesn’t matter how the weekend starts, it matters how it ends. In Tom Wayes case, the Weathertight, BFGoodrich Tires, 3D Concrete #321 ended on the podium with the first place 2014 MetalCloak NorCal Stampede trophy. Coming into the race Wayes was sitting in 2nd place in National Points trailing Healy by a mere 52 points. A challenging season to start, Wayes was the 2014 King of the Hammers fastest finisher until penalized to 7th for a navigation error, then as the 6th place finisher at the Arkansas Eastern Series race he added some momentum later in the day when he won the SRRS vs Ultra4 shootout in Hot Springs, Arkansas. With Tom Wayes first ever Ultra4 win at the NorCal Stampede, Wayes is now 1st in the National and Western Ultra4 Series points. Wayes next race will be the East Coast Series UMC Badlands race on June 29th.

Jason Scherer Finishes With Brand New Car at Ultra4 Stampede

DANVILLE, CA JUNE 10, 2014 Jason Scherer’s brand new IFS car is going to be a strong contender in the upcoming Ultra4 series races, as proven by it’s excellent performance at this weekends MetalCloak Ultra4 Stampede race. Started a short 3 months ago after the finish of the King of the Hammers, “The Gavel” hit dirt for the very first time on it’s way to Friday’s Tech Inspection where it passed with flying colors. Scherer finished 12^th in the main event, after racing up to the lead with just a half of lap to go. “It was great to see Tom Wayes in the winners circle in the same car that won last years Stampede!” said Jason Scherer, the 2013 MetalCloak Stampede winner. “We had our fair share of little issues that we had to work out on the new car this weekend. Today’s race was a bit bittersweet, knowing the car is awesome and with a little tuning is a top contender. But, also knowing that just making a normal pass or probably following the lapper would have been good enough for the win in the car’s debut race. Team FC4x4 Chases National Title

TEAM FOUR CORNERS CHASES NATIONAL TITLE

DURANGO, CO – Four Corners 4×4 recently returned from competing in the Dirt Riot Central Series Round #2 race at Canyons Off Road Park near Fredericksburg, Texas on May 31st. The team continued its podium streak for the 2014 season by finishing in third place and advancing a points position as they seek the Dirt Riot 4600 Stock Class National Title.

Team owner and driver, Jason Kaminsky, was back in the car for this race with team crew member Kenn Bates, also of Durango, navigating.

“This event was not a scheduled event for our season,” comments Kaminsky. “But, I felt it was important to our program and to our marketing partners to get out there and preserve, if not improve, our points standing in the National Title chase. Although we couldn’t finish better on the podium, we left the weekend with an improved spot in the national points.” (more…)
