  • First Ever ULTRA4 Win for “EZ” Rick Mooneyham

    "EZ" Rick MooneyhamTOOELE, UT July 16th, 2013: Driver “EZ” Rick Mooneyham is no stranger to the ULTRA4 podium.  Over the years, he’s been one of the most consistent top three finishers at the Griffin King of The Hammers Presented by Nitto Tire. However, despite all of his podium finishes, a first place trophy had proved elusive to Mooneyham; that is until last weekend’s American Rocksports Challenge held at Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele, UT where Mooneyham crushed the competition and claimed first place finishing nearly 45 seconds ahead of Shannon Campbell. The American Rocksports Challenge is the third and final race in the Trail-Gear Western Regional ULTRA4 Series. (more…)

  • Dsquared Racing Finishes in Badlands and Qualifies for KOH 2014

    Dsquared RacingColorado based Dsquared Racing announces a 15th place finish in the 2013 Ultra 4 Regional Series Race at Badlands Off Road Park in Attica, Indiana June 29th.  The race hosted just over 30 Ultra 4 competitors and was a two hour lap race.  Although the previous year was noted for dusty conditions causing poor visibility, this year extensive rain and mud changed track conditions considerably.  Attica hosted a parade and festival that the competitors participated and on race day an estimated 8000 fans were in attendance.   • Campbell Racing Combines Efforts for ULTRA4 Badlands Win

      ATTICA, IN, July 2nd 2013: More than 30 teams competed in the 2nd Annual ULTRA4 race held at Badlands Off-Road Park last Saturday as part of the Ultimate Motorsport Championship in Attica, IN. While the course layout was similar to last year, the dry and dusty conditions of 2012 were replaced with heavy rain and extensive mud.  Thousands of fans braved the wet and mucky conditions for a chance to see some of their favorite ULTRA4 drivers compete in a course that featured a newly created off road amphitheater and a technical rock quarry made even more punishing due to the slick conditions.     colorado springs dirt riotPLACERVILLE, CA   JUNE 27, 2013: Wildfires sprung up on Tuesday of the Dirt Riot Mountain Series race week in the Northern Colorado Springs area, drawing a lot of media attention to the area.  Although the race course at Ram Offroad Park was never in danger, there were a number of drivers and their families that were affected by the wildfires.  Local racer, Matt Peterson, owner of Rockware was on the outside of the pre-evac area, several days were spent moving the shop out of harms’ way. Other racers pitched in to help including the Lovell’s who opened their homes and fields to evacuees. The decision to continue the competition in a community where so many were facing mass devastation was left up to the drivers, who in the end were happy for the distraction. (more…)

  • W.E. Rock Professional Rock Crawling Eastern Series Joins UMC Event at Badlands Offroad Park This Weekend

    WERock Eastern 2PLACERVILLE, CA   JUNE 20, 2013:  The second round of the Eastern W.E. Rock Pro Rock Crawling Series will be this weekend as part of the Ultimate Motorsports Championship (UMC) at the Badlands Off Road Park in Attica, Indiana.  The three day event will include two full days of extreme rock crawling action in the quarry at the south end of the park.  “The rock quarry at the Badland park has always been a drivers favorite.  There are so many different types of terrain in one area that it challenges even the best drivers,” said Rich Klein, President and founder of W.E. Rock Events. “We encourage those that may think that they are just coming to watch the weekends events to bring their wheeler and participate in our Sportsman Class.  It is basically a run what you brung class that isn’t so difficult that you can’t have fun and be successful.  We already have three drivers preregistered in this class: Steve Brown, Paul Figge and Chris Smith; so it should be a great time!”  (more…)

  • Bigelow Motorsports ventures into GNCC UTV racing with a top 5 finish

    Masontown, WV-June 16,2013– Bigelow Motorsports, known as a mainstay in Ultra 4 racing and Rockcrawling for the last decade has expanded into UTV and SXS racing this past weekend in the Grand National Cross Country (GNCC) UTV racing series. Troy (Chris) Bigelow, brother to Doug Bigelow, piloted his 2013 Polaris 800 S to a top 5 in class finish at the rough and tumble Masontown, WV race track. Brother Doug acted as the co-driver and navigator. Their overall effort against all classes netted them a respectable 22nd out of 47th place against the best UTV drivers in the country throughtout 6 different classes including the pro class of 23 drivers. Both brothers were elated with their finish for the first time out but are eager to get back out on the track to prove they have learned from this experience. “We came to Masontown with a goal of going out to see if we could run with the top guys in the country and bring the last decade of racing experience from Bigelow Motorsports to an unkown type of racing challenge that racing UTV’s presents” said Troy Bigelow. “We built this vehicle in three days, and it virtually has no miles on it at all. We raced a little conservatively for our first time out not exactly knowing what we we getting into, but are really excited about our possibilities in this sport and racing in the GNCC series for the rest of this year and in 2013,” noted Doug Bigelow.
