COLORADO SPRINGS, CO APRIL 22, 2012 – JT Taylor will be taking the Torchmate / Tube Shark Ultra4 car south of the border to compete in the four day 2012 General Tire NORRA Mexican 1000 Race. This will be the first effort for an Ultra4 car to compete in this style of race. “This will be my third time participating in this race and taking my car makes it even more special this year,” said JT Taylor. “The roots of Baja racing are part of this race but this effort will be the OG of desert racing.” (more…)

YUKON GEAR AND AXLE/BIGELOW MOTORSPORTS WIN ROUND 1 at Rausch Creek
Emmitsburg, MD – April 16 2012 – Doug Bigelow, the owner and driver of the #4413 Yukon Gear and Axle/Bigelow Motorsports Ultra 4 race vehicle, won the opening round of three, at the Rausch Creek Offroad Endurance race this past weekend. Battling a tough group of 25 seasoned Ultra 4 racers from the East Coast, Bigelow consistently put down lap times in the top 3 racers to take home the win. “This was a tough race to persevere through, at the end of lap one the race buggy started overheating bad and we lost the lower radiator fan. I thought for sure it was done at that point when I had a couple of racers pass us. The motor kept going into limp mode and out and fortunately we kept running it as hard as it would take it. I’ll say this; the little Chevy 5.3 will take a beating. It’s been overcooked, frozen and run upside down and somehow it is still going”, noted Bigelow of the race. (more…)

Rob MacCachren Puts ROCKSTAR Energy Drink and Makita Tools On the Podium in LOORRS Season Opener
The first race with a new truck is never an easy task, even with the considerable talents of Rob MacCachren behind the wheel. MacCachren has already racked up wins in the desert this season at Laughlin, San Felipe, and the Mint 400, but the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series (LOORRS) short course season is just heating up. Speaking of heat, it was an issue in qualifying where temperatures at Firebird International Raceway in Phoenix were in the 90s, revealing a cooling issue with MacCachren’s brand new Pro2 Unlimited truck.
