    Mint 400Fort Mill, SC – March 29, 2012. In front of an estimated crowd of over 25,000 fans, Team GT took to the south Las Vegas desert for the 2012 General Tire Mint 400 over the weekend. The weekend kicked off with the first annual pit crew competition won by none other than Team GT member Rick D. Johnson. With the help of Mikey Childress, Johnson posted a time of just under one minute to beat out General Tire team member Jason Voss for the win. The following night, General Tire helped crown 2012 Miss Mint winner, Vanessa Golub-Ferrara. A fantastic start to the weekend which saw a harsh desert claim many victims throughout the 400-mile race.   • RJ Anderson Dominates WORCS RD3 in Lake Havasu

    Riverside, CA 3/21/2012 –    RJ Anderson and the Walker Evans Racing (WER) team headed to Lake Havasu, AZ last weekend and it wasn’t because they wanted to partake in the spring break madness. No, RJ and the team had work to do and work is exactly what they did. After coming up short in round 2 RJ was ready for a win in the Production 1000 class in his Polaris RZR XP900.  With his Holz Racing built machine fully prepped RJ lined up next to 30 other class racers and took them all to school putting in the races fastest lap time and winning in dominating fashion.  RJ was a full minute ahead of the second place finisher when the checkered flag dropped dominating the class and the race.  With this win RJ moved into first in points giving him added confidence and motivation heading towards round 4 of the series.  Needless to say, RJ fully enjoyed the tight and rough course at Crazyhorse Campground in Lake Havasu, AZ.   • Big Ugly Crashes at 96MPH in The Mint 400

    March 25, 2011–Las Vegas, NV:  At race mile 11.5 of The Mint 400 Kevin Sacalas of Big Ugly Racing experienced a rollover at 96 miles per hour (MPH). While this was Sacalas’ first time racing The Mint 400, he is no stranger to desert racing. Sacalas placed first in the Ultra4 class in the 1000 mile 2009 Best in the Desert Vegas to Reno race and second in the 2010 Best in the Desert Silver State 300.

  • New King of the Hammers Movie Titled "Rise of the East"

    Title and Trailer for 2012 Griffin King of The Hammers Movie Released

    King of the Hammers 2012 - TWIN PEAKS, CA – March 21, 2012 – Hammerking Productions released the trailer for the 2012 Griffin King of the Hammers movie titled, “Rise of the East” today. The title for this year’s film is a reference to the 2012 King, Erik Miller. Miller is the first winner of the race to reside east of the Mississippi in Cumberland, MD.

    The movie will document the week-long off-road racing event held every February in Johnson Valley, CA. 2012 marked the 6th year for the King of the Hammers race which featured more than 200 teams and 30,000 spectators competing in over 5 days of racing. The movie’s release date is expected this summer following a red carpet premiere. (more…)
