  • Off-Road Motorsports Hall of Fame Silent Auction and Induction Ceremony to be held at 2010 Off Road Expo

    RENO, NV   OCTOBER 4, 2010 – The Off-Road Motorsports Hall of Fame (ORMHOF) is pleased to announce that the 2010 Induction Ceremony and a very special Silent Auction will be held at the 2010 Off Road Expo on Saturday October 9, 2010 at the Sheraton Fairplex Hotel next to the Pomona Fairgrounds.  The Silent Auction is open to the public, with all proceeds helping to maintain the historic Hall of Fame.  The Induction Ceremony will be held earlier in the day and is by invitation only.  “We were pleased when Family Events approached us with their offer to support us through a silent auction.   • 5th Annual Surplus City Fall Mud & Crawl Brought Off Roaders Together for September 11th

    OROVILLE, CA    SEPTEMBER 28, 2010:  The Urban Assault OHV area held the 5th Annual Surplus City Fall Mud & Crawl over the weekend of September 11-12, 2010.  The event, open to all levels of competitors, from no prior experience to the pros in the unlimited class was a great success.  From Rock crawling to mud drags on Saturday and Sunday there was plenty of action to be seen.  The Teeter Totter competition on Sunday drew a large crowd, watching to see who could accomplish such a difficult feat. Included in the weekend long events was a display of the local police, fire and military vehicles in honor of the fallen 9/11 victims.  The big hit of the weekend, for kids of all ages, was the opportunity to ride in the Airborne Ranger Monster Truck.   • MEMORIAL MONUMENT IN HONOR OF RECENT CALIFORNIA 200 RACE CRASH VICTIMS TO BE UNVEILED AT 2010 LUCAS OIL OFF-ROAD EXPO

    POMONA, CALIF. (September 21, 2010) – Off-Road community members, racers, volunteers and companies in partnership with the Bureau of Land Management will gather on Saturday, October 9, at 10:30 a.m., at the 2010 Lucas Oil Off-Road Expo for the unveiling of the California 200 Memorial Monument, a large scale statue designed to honor the victims of the recent desert race accident where eight were killed and 12 injured. The 2010 Lucas Oil Off-Road Expo will invade the Pomona Fairplex Saturday, October 9 through Sunday, October 10, with everything off-road including new vehicles, thousands of parts and accessories, ATV test rides, freestyle motocross action and more.

    “The annual Lucas Oil Off-Road Expo is where the Off-Road Nation comes together, making it naturally an appropriate place to unveil the memorial,” said off-road industry spokesperson and California 200 memorial project co-chair, Marty Fiolka. “This will give the families of the victims, supporters, fans and the entire off-road community an opportunity to reflect on this terrible tragedy.” (more…)

  • 5th Annual Surplus City Fall Mud & Crawl September 11-12, 2010

    OROVILLE, CA    SEPTEMBER 6, 2010:  The Urban Assault OHV area will hold the 5th Annual Surplus City Fall Mud & Crawl this weekend.  The event is open to all levels of competitors, from no prior experience to the pros in the unlimited class.  Rock crawling, mud bogs, and a raffle will be on both Saturday and Sunday. In honor of the fallen 9/11 victims, there will be a display of local police, fire and military vehicles.  The Airborne Ranger Monster Truck will offer rides to kids of all ages.

    The Urban Assault arena has a man-made rock crawling course that can test the best of the pros, yet give a new crawler a good challenge.  “Sundays event will included all of the unlimited class action that you would see at a national level, while Saturday is all about allowing an opportunity for the people that want to experience what competitive rock crawling is to try it out and have a chance at winning at the same time,” explained Bob Frank, event coordinator.   • Exit 28 Motorsports Park Opens Gates for Ultra4 Stampede Race

    RENO, NV   SEPTEMBER 1, 2010 ~ Exit 28 Motorsports Park is excited to host the Stampede race produced by Hammerking Productions and sponsored by ORI of Reno.  Designated spectator areas will be $10/per person per area, 10 years and under are free but must be accompanied by an adult at all times, and everyone is expected to stay behind the protective barriers.  The main parking area is free and accessible by passenger cars.  Wristbands can be pre-purchased on Thursday and Friday at the ORI of Reno display booth to help eliminate congestion on Saturday morning.

    The green flag will drop at 10am on Saturday September 11th and is expected to finish by 6pm. Please plan on coming early if you would like to see the beginning of the race, the road will be closed intermittently throughout the day as racecars cross.  There are two spectator friendly viewing areas with no stadium seating, camp chairs are recommended for all areas.
