Although many think the Hilux is more or less similar to a Tacoma it is, in fact, a very different vehicle. The frame is very stout, and the rear suspension is designed for quite a bit more load and service than a Tacoma. These differences prompted an approach to this international chassis that was quite different than the USDM counterpart. In standard fashion, ICON engineers took an all-encompassing approach and addressed the Hilux’s suspension as a whole rather than focusing on one particular component. The result of this is a dramatic increase in wheel travel and damping ability, translating into outstanding vehicle control and ride quality both on and off-road. (more…)

Suwanee, Ga. (July 22, 2014) – Rugged Ridge®, a manufacturer of Jeep® off-road accessories and suspension kits, today introduced its new inverted drag link for 2007-2014 Jeep JK Wranglers. Specially designed to fix steering geometry issues that plague lifted Jeeps, the new design reduces bump steer and increases ground clearance; keeping vital steering components out of the way from rocks and other obstacles on the trail.Jeep’s original design has the drag link mounted from the bottom of the passenger side steering knuckle, leaving the drag link especially vulnerable to trail damage. Using Rugged Ridge’s new design, owners drill out the original steering knuckle mounting hole and relocate the new inverted drag link over the top of the knuckle using a connecting sleeve, gaining precious ground clearance. Superlift’s 6″ lift kit for 2009-2014 Ford F150 4WD trucks achieves front lift by installing spacers on top of the factory front strut / coil spring assemblies, eliminating time consuming strut disassembly. The factory upper control arms are retained and remain in their original location, while the factory lower control arms and axle housing are lowered, in relation to the frame. New Superlift replacement steering knuckles made of cast ductile iron, and machined in-house by Superlift, span the increased distance between the control arms without increasing track width.
