Sportsman Racers Ready to Invade Crandon for MORR Test Session
Appleton, WI (May 6, 2010) – As the MORR (Midwest Off Road Racing) membership continues to grow, so does the anticipation of the first Sportsman only test day at the “Big House” in Crandon, Wisconsin. After a few discussions between MORR president, Dan Vanden Heuvel and Crandon International Off-Road Raceway CEO, Cliff Flannery earlier in the year, everyone agreed that creating a test day at the TORC series’ biggest track would be a huge boost for all involved parties. Sacalas’ “Big Ugly” Takes Close 2nd at Silver State 300
Kevin Sacalas went into last week’s BITD Silver State 300 with one goal: to prove he was a contender in the Ultra4 class. He did just that! At the end of 300 miles, one minute 18 seconds is all that separated Sacalas, the 2009 Vegas to Reno winner, from Loren Healy, the 2010 King of the Hammers winner. Ultimately, as they crossed the finish line, following a 90+ MPH drag race through the silt beds of the Nevada desert, Healy would take 1st with Sacalas coming in a close 2nd. Silver State 300 was Sacalas’ 3rd Ultra4 race in the 4435 car he built in his garage that fans have affectionately dubbed, “Big Ugly.” (more…) -

Wind and Rocks Collide at W.E. Rock Ballistic Fabrication Pro National Competition
PLACERVILLE, CA MAY 5, 2010: The W.E. Rock Ballistic Fabrication Pro National Event whipped up the action and the wind at the Tucson, AZ Pima Motorsports Park. Local Arizona racers competed against national champions with solid performances on the scoreboards, while the wind scattered vendor row and flustered the concentration of some drivers. The class winners were Brad Lovell, Brent Bradshaw, Todd Stephensen and Nathan Unruh. (more…)
